What an honour to be at the launch of the Recursion and Valence Labs new 6,700 sq ft office at King's Cross N1C today. The building includes an onsite cafe, bicycle storage, showers, prayer room and mothers room. In line with Recursion’s commitment to sustainability, the building is rated BREEAM “Excellent” and is linked to a site-wide district heating and cooling network that results in net-zero carbon emissions. I was, as I said, “super-pumped” to meet the CEO Chris Gibson - and Valence Labs President Daniel Cohen as well as their new advisor Michael Bronstein the DeepMind Professor of AI at Oxford. London is Recursion’s first European office and they have hopes and plans to grow strongly here. I was particularly pleased that London & Partners played a big role in their London landing journey, supported by Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan . With 1500 AI businesses, and a thriving expanding health and life science sector, London is the best place to find the talent, ideas and space for new drug and treatment development. Recursion is a clinical stage TechBio company decoding biology to industrialise drug discovery. It had developed the Recursion OS, a platform built across diverse technologies that continuously expands one of the world’s largest proprietary biological, chemical and patient-centric datasets. The company was co-founded by Chris Gibson from Salt Lake City Utah - Chris says: "As Recursion continues to lead and define the TechBio industry, it's critical we hire the best possible talent, much of which is located in Europe," "London stood out as an ideal location given its brilliant and interdisciplinary talent across the fields of technology, biology and chemistry. It’s also the epicenter for the rapidly growing TechBio sector in Europe, where leading technology and life science companies like Google and Merck both sit within walking distance of our new Recursion site.” “I look forward to expanding our operations in Europe and hiring many new Recursionauts who will help us advance our mission of decoding biology to radically improve lives.” Recursion uses machine learning algorithms to distill from its dataset a collection of trillions of searchable relationships across biology and chemistry, with the world’s 35th most powerful supercomputer. By commanding massive experimental scale — up to millions of wet lab experiments weekly — and massive computational scale — Recursion is uniting technology, biology, chemistry and patient-centric data to advance the future of medicine. Last year they acquired Valence Labs, bringing their expertise to the party too. Thanks to Lydia Volans and the team at Mayor of London for setting this up and for a brilliant briefing. AET show was great for Gator Bio. I asked AI to write a short essay about BLI technology. Unveiling the Genuine: Gator BLI Redefines Biolayer Interferometry Gator BLI rises above the rest, claiming the mantle of the world's only genuine biolayer interferometry (BLI) technology. This bold statement finds its roots in the unwavering dedication of Dr. Hong Tan, the visionary who pioneered BLI over two decades ago. A Pioneer's Passion Rekindled: Dr. Tan's journey with BLI began at FortéBio, where he played a pivotal role in bringing this revolutionary technology to life. He witnessed firsthand its immense potential to transform diverse scientific fields, from drug discovery to protein analysis. However, a change in ownership at FortéBio led him to a disheartening realization – BLI's progress had stalled. Gator Bio: Where Innovation Ignites: Driven by a burning passion for BLI's potential and a fervent commitment to scientific advancement, Dr. Tan embarked on a bold new venture: Gator Bio. This company represents a testament to his unwavering dedication to BLI, offering next-generation instruments and advancements that push the boundaries of the technology. Beyond Mere Claims: What Makes Gator BLI Genuine? Gator BLI's claim to being the "only genuine BLI" rests on several key differentiators: Pioneered by the BLI Inventor Himself: Dr. Tan's deep understanding of BLI's core principles permeates every aspect of Gator BLI, from its design to its functionality. Cutting-Edge Advancements: Gator BLI boasts revolutionary features, including enhanced sensitivity, unmatched robustness, and unparalleled versatility compared to its predecessors. Widened Horizons of Discovery: Gator BLI empowers researchers across diverse fields, from unraveling the mysteries of drug-protein interactions to understanding the intricate dance of biomolecules. User-Centric Design: Gator BLI prioritizes intuitive operation and accessibility, making it a valuable tool for scientists of all experience levels. A New Chapter in BLI's Legacy: Gator BLI is more than just an instrument; it's a symbol of Dr. Tan's unwavering dedication to scientific progress and a testament to the transformative power of innovation. It represents a new chapter in the BLI story, one where researchers are empowered with the tools they need to unlock groundbreaking discoveries.

🔬𝗦𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗛𝘂𝗯: 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴✨ Proteins play a crucial role in various biological processes, from medical breakthroughs to genetic discoveries, but understanding their complex structure and function remains a challenge in the scientific community. Recent advancements like 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗱𝟯 have revolutionized protein structure prediction. However, challenges in training and deploying deep learning models for proteins hinder non-ML researchers due to complexities like model selection, coding nuances and dataset preprocessing. 𝗦𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗛𝘂𝗯 addresses this gap by enabling researchers to create and train models without advanced ML expertise, focusing on protein function prediction. The platform features 𝗦𝗮𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁, a universal protein language model enhanced with a novel Structure-Aware (SA) representation. This innovation combines amino acid sequences with 3D structural information, significantly improving prediction capabilities. Another key component, 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗦𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁, allows seamless fine-tuning and inference of the SaProt model using Google Colaboratory. This integration ensures that even those without extensive computational resources can participate in advanced protein modeling.
