🧬 A monumental stride in Structural Biology! AlphFold's Next-Gen Revolution💡 🔬 Google DeepMind, in partnership with Isomorphic Labs, unveils the next generation of AlphFold, redefining our understanding and significantly enhancing accuracy across various biomolecule classes. This includes ligands (small molecules), proteins, nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), and those harbouring post-translational modifications (PTMs). These diverse structures and complexes are vital for deciphering cellular biological mechanisms, and they've been notoriously challenging to predict with precision. 🚀 AlphFold establishes a new benchmark for protein-ligand structure prediction. It surpasses the best-known docking methods, all without the need for a reference protein structure or knowledge of the ligand pocket's location. This breakthrough enables predictions for entirely novel proteins that haven't been structurally characterized before. The world of structural biology just took a quantum leap forward! 🧬💡 #AlphFold #StructuralBiology #Innovation #DeepMind #IsomorphicLabs
Today in partnership with Isomorphic Labs, we're sharing progress on the next generation of #AlphaFold. 🧬 Our new model greatly expands coverage of structure prediction beyond proteins to other key biomolecular classes. How could it help scientists? → https://lnkd.in/eRmWSYrk

In a recent chat with Vijay Pande, PhD, Aviv Regev, Executive Vice President of Research and Early Development at Genentech, talked about how she knew the early advances in perturbation (CRISPR) and measurement (single-cell genomics) were a pivotal opportunity. But, as she put it, “you have to know enough to grab it.” Regev’s computational thinking recognized how these tools enabled causal, iterative, large-scale experimentation that could be used to predictively model cells and reveal new insights. Key takeaways: Adopt a computational mindset to know which new tools or data sources offer transformational opportunities in your field. Step back to understand how they fulfill the wishlist that can solve your mission-critical problems. Listen to the full conversation https://lnkd.in/eccenR2H
