Most Innovative Financial Services Leader 2024 🏆Thought Leader of the Year & Excellence Award, Women in Finance 2023 🥇 FinTech Founder 🤑 Social Entrepreneur ❤️🔥 Activist 👊 Speaker 🎙️
This year's IWD theme seemed a bit silly because it's a no-brainer. Without economic equality there cannot be gender equality. So I was a bit quiet last week & kept DOING what I do - running my business, closing the gender retirement gap, being a Mum/Wife/Mentor etc - less talk more ACTION Now the buzz has died down I'm proud to share my OUTRAGE in this Women Love Tech IWD video🎙️ Until women have equal financial rights & equal financial confidence, they cannot build & control their own financial resources. Without that financial control & resilience women are robbed of the most powerful asset anyone can have in life 🌈 CHOICE That’s what money is💸 The ability to live a life of our choosing, on our terms, without fear. It’s the gift of self-determination. It’s also a gift to the world 🎁 Data shows... women are better financial citizens ✅ We pay back loans faster, default less & gift more to charity. We’re even better investors ✅ Not only, do we outperform men on average, we invest more into education, health care & our planet🌏 Research demonstrates that when women are financially successful, companies do better, communities flourish & economies prosper. And yet, today we have a $30 trillion global gender wealth gap 🤔🤬 Here in Australia, women earn $2 million less on average over their lifetime than men & retire with 42% less despite living longer & doing the majority of caring across all aspects of society. This is not an ‘old’ problem 👉More than half of women between 25-29 YOA today, will retire without enough to afford the meagre standard of living described as ‘comfortable’ by the government. That’s HALF of our young women destined for an end-of-life defined & constrained by financial hardship. We should ALL be utterly APPALLED. That's why on #internationalwomensday2024 we must demand, not politely request, DEMAND that governments, companies & families take action. Today & every day. We must close the gender pay gap NOW ✊ Show the 30% of Aussie men who don't believe there is gender inequality how this impacts them so they can give a 💩 Legislate equitable caring responsibilities for new parents 🍼 Pay super bonuses to women taking time out to raise the children who will fuel our future economy 💸 Make childcare affordable to everyone & make it simple for women to return to work & flourish with additional resources, support & flexibility ⚖️ Show women the respect they deserve, not by opening doors or giving them your seat on the train, but by valuing their extraordinary contribution to life with EQUITABLE opportunity & pay! I challenge you - get up close & personal with the problem. It’s all around you. Become a part of the solution & go out of your way to COUNT HER IN even if it costs you. In 2025 men should take leave to run IWD & advocate for change. We'll take the day off or just keep running the show at home & at work. If men ran IWD & had KPIs would change come faster❓ Join me for a chat 👇 #genderequity

Despite heightened citizen engagement in the 2023 general election, women’s representation in the National Assembly dropped by 19% compared to the previous term. Although there’s a noticeable increase in women’s representation in subnational governments, their achievements often receive less publicity. The remarkable story of Chineloma Eleodimuo, who made history as UNIBEN’s first female Student Union Government (SUG) President is one of such. As we wrap up Women’s History Month, let’s remember that supporting and celebrating women goes beyond a single month. #womenshistory #iwd2024 #uniben #womenparticipationinpolitics #videooftheday

CEO, Ruh Global IMPACT | Executive Chair, Billion Strong | Host of Human Potential at Work AXSChat Co-Host
Sharing my fireside talk about Billion Strong at #zerocon24. #WeAreBillionStrong. Wilfried Kainz interviewed me about our efforts with Billion Strong We discussed the intense times of upheaval and the unparalleled opportunity for the community of people with lived experiences with disabilities to take control of our destinies. We can’t keep waiting for society, employers, corporate brands, and governments to include us. By coming together to support, fund, employ, and choose each other as vendors, we set a powerful example of self-sufficiency and resilience. Our collective action has the potential to not only strengthen our community from within but also to inspire others to join us in this movement. This approach of mutual support and collaboration paves the way for a more inclusive and empowered future. As we navigate these changes, our unity becomes our strength. Every action we take towards supporting one another amplifies our collective voice and impact. By embracing this ethos of interdependence, we can build a world where the needs and talents of people with disabilities are not just recognized but are integral to the fabric of society. Let’s unite and lead the way towards a more inclusive, supportive, and interconnected world. The NOMA PDX ‘Call-to-Action’ pledge promotes improved racial equality in the architecture profession. An initial signatory, Integrus encourages other AEC firms and providers in Oregon to join this collective effort working toward a more diverse and inclusive industry. The two-year Call-to-Action with bi-annual reporting is a meaningful undertaking. It includes 19 commitments ranging from prerequisites building on foundational elements and a commitment to ongoing changes. These include equitable hiring, improved leadership pathways, EDI training, seeking to work with BIPOC consultants, and challenging complacency of the status quo. We’re also pleased to sponsor NOMA chapters in Portland and Seattle and have enjoyed participating in the popular ‘Project Pipeline’ youth design program as well as the recent NOMA National Conference. It’s time for critical conversations, reflection, and a long-term commitment to systemic change. https://lnkd.in/gxbMT_vq #NOMA #CTA #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #AECIndustry #Pledge #BIPOC #Community

Cooperatives, along with employee ownership and other 'beyond profit' structures, are at the heart of the Restoration of our corporate world. Imagine even turning the corporate structure of every country into an employee owned co-operative. Now that's some divine thinking! #weareenough #thereisenough #comeontherestoration
“Scotland has a rich tradition of radical women agitating for social change: equal rights, votes for women. But the history is in danger of getting lost” says media co-op’s Vilte Vaitkute. “It’s been a real honour and huge fun for media co-op to collaborate with local women activists, to rescue this inspiring history of the co-op movement, and put it on screen. Being nominated for this award is the icing on the cake. We’re asking everyone we know to watch and vote, vote, vote.” Please vote for our 2-minute film on women's rights and co-operative history https://lnkd.in/eyXfqsM3 Engender Scotland Close the Gap Zero Tolerance Scotland Cooperatives UK Paisley Museum & Art Gallery OneRen SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) National Library of Scotland Scotmid Co-operative Refuge

A lesson I've learned working at Orange Business is that to foster change, we must actively participate in the process. We must guide and support woman in tech industry! As said by Laurent Aufils: "As a male leader in this sector, it becomes incumbent upon me, and my counterparts, to use our platforms to emphasize and amplify the importance of gender equality. In an inspiring move towards inclusive decision-making, JUGEND für Europa, the German National Agency, showcases the transformative power of youth participation. Their approach? A consultative, step-by-step journey towards meaningful engagement, where young voices aren't just heard—they are pivotal. 🔍 The Journey to Empowerment From unlimited croissants to impactful workshops, JUGEND für Europa understands that appreciation comes in many forms. But beyond the gestures, it's their methodical approach to youth engagement that's truly groundbreaking. By creating a concept through workshops with young people, they have ensured that youth participation is both meaningful and empowering. 📜 A Blueprint for Success The creation of a Youth Advisory Board, with rights and roles clearly defined, stands as a testament to their commitment. This document, revised biennially, not only binds the youth to the agency but also serves as a beacon for others looking to replicate their success. 💡 Key Takeaways - Consultative Approach: Engaging youth from the get-go ensures that their input is foundational. - Strategic Planning: Taking time to plan, involving stakeholders, and assessing resources are crucial steps. - Diversity and Inclusion: Bringing in external partners can enhance the diversity of the group. - Structured Freedom: While open processes are encouraged, some structure is beneficial for clarity and direction. JUGEND für Europa's journey is a compelling example of how integrating young people into decision-making processes can enrich and diversify perspectives. Dive deeper into their story and discover how they are shaping the future of youth engagement 👉 https://lnkd.in/ebDmhVKB #NewPowerInYouth #YouthEngagement #YouthParticipation #ErasmusPlus #YouthInDecisionMaking
