True progress requires a concerted effort to translate words into concrete actions, such as implementing transparent pay structures, providing mentorship and sponsorship opportunities, and fostering a culture of inclusion that actively challenges stereotypes and biases. It's crucial for organizations to move beyond rhetoric and take meaningful steps toward creating a workplace where women have equal opportunities to thrive and succeed. Misogyny is no longer just a textbook concept. Furthermore, addressing workplace gender inequality involves recognizing that misogyny is not solely perpetuated by men. Women can also unknowingly contribute to a toxic environment through internalized biases or by perpetuating stereotypes. This highlights the need for comprehensive cultural shifts that challenge such attitudes, irrespective of the gender of the individuals involved. #FinanceMinister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted a significant shift in India's #corporate landscape, noting that #women are not only leading startups but also increasingly joining company boards. She mentioned that in 2018, only 13.8% of women held board positions, but today, that number has #risen to 18.3%. Sitharaman also pointed out that among the 111 #unicorns created in India, 20 of them have women in #leadership roles. Emphasizing the government's women-centric policies, Sitharaman stated that 80% of the funds allocated under the Stand Up India Scheme have been directed towards women. Additionally, 10% of the Small Industries Development Bank of India's (Sidbi) #fund of funds is earmarked for #startups led by women. The Stand Up India Scheme, initiated in April 2016, aims to encourage #bank branches to provide loans to individuals from scheduled castes, tribes, and women to establish new #sustainable #businesses. This scheme has been extended until 2025.  Sitharaman highlighted that 70% of the #loans sanctioned under the PM Mudra Scheme have been given to women, benefiting approximately 30 crore women beneficiaries. The PM Mudra Scheme provides collateral-free loans under the government's flagship #scheme to promote self-employment. Speaking at the launch of Swiggy's 'She the Change' initiative, Sitharaman commended women #entrepreneurs for their vibrancy and willingness to take on business #challenges of all sizes. Swiggy, a food-delivery platform, is IPO-bound and has created over 300,000 jobs in India, with more than 50,000 restaurants run by women. Swiggy's CEO, Rohit Kapoor, expressed pride in providing a platform for women entrepreneurs in the #foodandbeverage space, witnessing their remarkable journeys firsthand, and observing the steady #growth in both the number and scale of women-led businesses on Swiggy each year.
