Ripples of Impact: The Chronicle of WABAG's Century in Water. Chapter 04 : Consolidation and Export (A decade of Monopoly) In the 1960s, WABAG's successful growth trajectory continued, and in 1964, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary. By 1964, most major cities in Germany and renowned companies were already customers of WABAG, which designed and constructed approximately 95% of dam water treatment facilities, establishing a near-monopoly position. Both larger and smaller municipalities and businesses were among their clients. The name WABAG was not only well-known in Germany but also globally, due to their projects in Europe and the Middle East. In 1963, Wolfgang Kretzschmar took over the business following the sudden death of his father, Alfred Kretzschmar, at a time when WABAG had around 200 employees and an annual revenue of approximately 20 million euros. WABAG executed projects like the sintered water treatment for steelworks in Rourkela, India, and wastewater treatment facilities for BASF. Their wealth of experience from overcoming challenges formed the basis for innovations during this period. #RipplesOfImpact #WABAGChronicle #Europe #MiddleEast #BASF #Rourkela #Germany #SDG #Passioneering #Water #Sanitation #Sustainability #ESG #WABAG #VATECHWABAG #WABAG100

Ripples of Impact: The Chronicle of WABAG's Century in Water. Chapter 03 : Architects Of Aquatic Progress (From Reconstruction to Innovation) During the period of industrial reconstruction in post-war Germany, WABAG also experienced rapid growth, marked by an intense investment boom in water technology from 1951 to 1958. The focus was on global expansion, with a significant market presence in drinking water plants, initially in Germany, later in Pakistan, and beyond. The workforce exceeded the 100-employee mark in the early 1950s. The WABAG construction division played a crucial role, acting as the general contractor for around 200 indoor swimming pools in Germany, as well as notable drinking water treatment projects in Berlin. In the late 1950s, significant exports were made to Italy, particularly plants for the porcelain industry and demineralization plants for steel mills. During this time, numerous patents were registered. Particularly noteworthy are the patents for pressure filters (1957) and for continuous water softening. #RipplesOfImpact #WABAGChronicle #Germany #Berlin #Italy #SDG #Passioneering #Water #Sanitation #Sustainability #ESG #WABAG #VATECHWABAG #WABAG100

We hope you find it an exciting read. Ripples of Impact: The Chronicle of WABAG's Century in Water Chapter 01: The Groundbreaking Era (Filtering Success, Global Reach & Wartime Commitment) Established in 1924 by Max Reder, "WABAG Wasserreinigungsbau" in Breslau, Germany, led by chief engineer Alfred Kretzschmar, swiftly became a pioneer in water treatment. Key innovations, such as the WABAG filter nozzle and gravel filter, secured a monopoly in large filter systems. By 1939, WABAG's international footprint expanded with projects in Turkey, Prague, and Rio de Janeiro, showcasing expertise in chemical and water treatment for various industries. The company's role in constructing provisional water and sewage systems during wartime, with Kretzschmar's exemption from military service, underscored its crucial contributions. #RipplesOfImpact #WABAGChronicle #MaxReder #AlfredKretzschmar #Breslau #Germany #SDG #Passioneering #Water #Sanitation #Sustainability #ESG #WABAG #VATECHWABAG #WABAG100
