Ripples of Impact: The Chronicle of WABAG's Century in Water. Chapter 05: Partnering for Progress (Deutsche Babcock Joins Forces with WABAG) In the early 1970s, WABAG's workforce in Kulmbach grew to a total of 350 employees. During this period, the company expanded its activities abroad, including in Burma and the Far East, and commenced the development of flue gas desulphurization treatment facilities in response to the demands of energy providers. Large-scale projects were undertaken in Karachi, Pakistan in the mid-1970s. WABAG became a major supplier of drinking water treatment facilities under the leadership of CEO Mr. Werkmann, also taking on projects in Algeria, Turkey, and Iran. With the entry of Deutsche Babcock in Oberhausen (an important German industry group) as a shareholder in 1973, the "years in the Babcock Group" began. By the late 1970s, WABAG had evolved into a significant provider for the planning, delivery, and implementation of facilities in the fields of drinking water, pool water, and demineralisation plants in Germany, Europe, and worldwide. #RipplesOfImpact #WABAGChronicle #DesalinationPlant #DesulphurizationTreatment #DrinkingWaterTreatment #DeutscheBabcock #SDG #Passioneering #Water #Sanitation #Sustainability #ESG #WABAG #VATECHWABAG #WABAG100 #Kulmbach #Burma #Algeria #Turkey #Iran
