The USPS will hire you, but they don’t manage you. Unions do, in all three levels, postmasters, supervisors, and craft, letter carriers. Politics plays a role, and if you’re not liked, they’ll find a way to get you out. I had officials who was a supervisor and a union steward collude to set me up, by using a gun threat that another official made. My name was inserted and I was blamed for what an officer in the NALC had done, and after 15 years I was fired. The guy I took the fall for, is currently a union president in Arizona. They used my veteran status, as if saying, veterans are more likely to be aggressive than other carriers. Just as they were instructed to do by the Postal Commission. #USPSfiredaninnocentVeteran

You all wonder why you can't keep good employees???? This is why: Better hope you find a good office to work in. Because some are run by horrible management and they do not discipline management. There is a woman who has had SO MANY PEOPLE QUIT because of her. She is very sexist and biased and will lie and cheat to get her way. I asked for help from our union and my upper management several times and no one seemed to do anything about her at all. Yall lost a woman who had 23 years in because she couldn't take it anymore. And I myself was there for almost 2 years and decided that was not the place I wanted to be. In the 2 years that I was there, including myself, there were 10 of us who quit because of her!!!!!! What is it going to take for y'all to open your eyes?!?!?

You fail to pay for the vehicles and you fail to assist giving proper rural route vehicles which need a wheel on the right side for the mailboxes. You took away the three wheel cart for city delivery causing more pain on folks backs causing more worker's comp claims. There is so much you took away that I think you cost yourselves more money. Sorry $20/hour delivering mail is a great gig until you tell me I have to use my own car - now that income flat lined! PASS

NO You are not United States Postal Service !! I have been desperately trying to switch crafts- because the city carrier craft was too demanding! I was stuck working 14 hour shifts until I finally developed an injury. My supervisor said If I reported my injury I would never be able to change crafts and attempted to deter me from reporting this injury!! Please tell me how to switch crafts, I served two years , I have post tibial tendinitis and I need a less demanding position!!! I have a background in graphic art , maybe you should hire me to post these ads on LinkdIn since whoever has this job is tone deaf and posting photos of workers with injuries!!!!!

The unions do not manage you. This is a bureaucratical process. Unions are there to protect you. The postmasters are in charge as well as the supervisor at the station. Everything you do is quantified including your behavior the way you drive and the amount of mail you deliver each day. It is based on A quantitative algorithm and is very statistical. The human equation is left out. Amazon carriers work in a similar manner, yet extremely more efficient.

Rural Carrier / Local Pastor at United States Postal Service

spent 25 years as a rural carrier best job of my life never had a problem until Patricia Tindle became postmaster worst manager I ever worked under. Had to retire a year early because of her. Worked a 13 hour day on Friday was taken to the hospital by ambulance the next morning (had I waited 3 more hours to call I would not be here) arrived with a BP of 60/00. Spent 18 days in the hospital. All could have been avoided had I been allowed a day off that week to go to the doctor. This postmaster lies, falsifies documents, has favorites, looks for reasons to get rid of good employees. Sits at her desk and flips her computer and phone off after her boss calls her. Loves to use the “F” bomb and GD on the workroom floor where customers can hear her.  All of this has been reported but no one will do anything. Dejoy needs to go and so does she.

This is not a good career if you're trying to pay rent. When I was hired I was hired at 19.13 an hour. Could barely pay my rent. Didn't get many hours. Hr is very bureaucratical. Very difficult to get things done. If you have the patience for this then go do your thing. I don't recommend it at all. This is why the USPS has so so much trouble hiring people and keeping them.
