I’m going to say this, I’m a career clerk for USPS. I go to work on time, clock in on time and clock out on time. I’m respectful of the management, supervisors, staff that is charge. My record speaks for itself. This is me and just how I feel at this moment with USPS. I have given my best to the worst. Just here recently I wanted to move into supervisor/management and have no help or assistance in making the transition. I applied for supervisor apprenticeship recently and was denied because of KSA, I didn’t even know what a KSA was until after the fact. I was not told that a KSA would be required but later on learned that it would be required. As of to date, I’m nowhere further than when I started trying to advance in my career with the postal service. Any time you are hiring per year 150-200K people what does it really say? Why the high turnover? I feel I pay dues to a union that doesn’t care who behind the scenes are working with the management. One of the issues I have is APWU or union leaders should have no interest or employment with USPS. I’m finding out that there are some that are wearing the union shirts but are with the management. USPS is not for everyone, where I’m at, the good people who come to work can’t advance.

In my last comment concerning the management of USPS. Everywhere you have a great deal of good management and management, I can’t stress this enough, this is everywhere, you have more than a few bad apples in the mix. I have seen people put into management with no training, proper vetting and most of all people skills. Again, how we are promoted will be how and what we continue to do in keeping the promotion. A lot of these issues are being addressed but I would like to see them addressed on a bigger broader level, station management, plant management, supervisors, 204b, management level period. Now, I will address the workers because if you have good management then appreciate them and come to work. Management has a job to do but so do you. Management can be abused by workers that steal time and that put in no work. It’s a two way street here. I have been an acting supervisor and have seen the worst in an employee telling me no and refusing to work. I have told the employees that if they want fairness with management then they should be fair with their job and management. I’m not on here to bash or disrespect management or employees but it is two sides to the coin. If we fail to plan then we plan to fail.

I left just after two years. I wasn't okay being constantly lied to by management, being treated as a disposable human being by USPS as a whole, and just straight up not being allowed to spend time with my family, especially with literally zero benefits for my work. USPS hires 150k per year and 90% won't hit their third year. There's a reason.

Why acompany like USPS have to hire 150-200k every year? Ask yourself that question first!!! And then think if it really is a “ great opportunity”

Headed out the door,12 plus years as distribution clerk and last 8 in maintenance as custodian… been lucky to have decent management for the most part… Im an old soldier so I don’t get caught up in the foolishness…..nothing is like it used to be. I do just my job , they leave me alone, I don’t take the job home . I feel I’m blessed….He wakes me every morning, he gives me a place to go and purpose, and I am rewarded for my labor , but you decide….. I got 41 years working for Uncle Sugar between US ARMY, TSA and USPS so I might be a tad biased

In a year! That’s nothing to be proud of. That’s just showing how many stay. Just a thought ( I’m including retired & transfer employees)

There are a whole lot of whiners in this thread. Different era of types of employees nowadays. I was a letter carrier for 25 years and it was a great and rewarding career. I have a comfortable retirement with good benefits. Also it kept me in good shape!

With a lot of nepotism, and favoritism, you will be lucky if you can find a supervisory or higher position...
