Happy #pride month! 🌈 We are proud of all farmers, diplomats, and producers alike in America and around the world! The heart of agriculture lies in the hard of work of farmers and producers, regardless of their identity. What unites all farmers is their pride in agriculture, their love for their land, and their dedication to their agribusinesses. At the recent Native Nations Agribusiness Trade Mission, we met Tara Gomez, an LGBTQ, Indigenous woman ag exporter. 🌱 You can read her inspiring story here: https://lnkd.in/eedScaXZ

Pride month is around the corner... Are you at risk for rainbow washing? Each year during Pride, companies modify their logo and merch with rainbow colours and images to demonstrate their support for the LGBTQ community. But are some of them just monetizing the rainbow? You might be familiar with green or blue washing, but another emerging issue in the ESG-universe to be aware of is rainbow washing—using rainbows in advertising or branding to indicate support for the LGBTQ community, but without providing that same support and advocacy for this marginalized group throughout the rest of the year. Our CEO and Founder Ivy (Ivanna) Lumia had a chance to sit down with the legendary Rob Smith to discuss the critical importance of an organization’s governance of LGBTQ matters and what Boards can do to mitigate the risk of rainbow washing. Yesterday OUT for Sustainability celebrated a major milestone by receiving observer status by the UNFCCC UN COP. We hope this becomes a step towards a real recognition of the need and importance of adding #LGBTQ voices into the formal negotiations process. As it was included in the latest sysntesis report on views for the output of the global stocktake (based on the science based inputs provided by our organization), we need to explicitly recognize the LGBTQ population in the #HumanRights Framework, as well as to include and empower them during all stages of the decidion makeing process, and to include the needs and epzreinxes of these population group in climate action. We look forward to work during #COP28 and beyond on making the #ParisAgreement inclusive, equitable, and diverse. We’ll be around the two week installment case your interested in learning more! Queer #climateaction is the most effective!

ARTICLE WORTH READING! On Glaad, “Commentary: Tractor Supply’s Retreat from LGBTQ Inclusion Does Not Reflect the Diversity of Rural America” Tractor Supply's recent step back from LGBTQ inclusion has stirred up some debate, with critics pointing out that it doesn't fully reflect the diversity of rural America. This decision has raised concerns about the company's dedication to inclusivity and equality, especially at a time when social change and acceptance are crucial. The article explores the impact of such moves and the broader societal discussion surrounding LGBTQ rights and representation. FYI: I felt that — given TSC’s stance on inclusivity — they needed to update their corporate values … so I did it for them! https://lnkd.in/e4r4kWmp #lgbtqa #diversity #inclusion #thegayleadershipdude #leadership

People are leading movements worldwide to create just futures, and justice can look like many things. It can look like prioritizing land rights and environmental integrity over militarization; it can look like abolition, and gender equity, LGBTQIA rights, and more. What does justice mean to you?
