USDA announces $22.3 million in grants to provide training, outreach and technical assistance to help underserved and veteran farmers, ranchers and foresters. Funding is made through USDA’s 2501 Program, which is administered by the USDA Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement. USDA’s 2501 Program grants can support workshops and demonstrations on various farming techniques, conferences, technical assistance and more. Shown here, one of last year’s 2501 grantees, Farm to Table Guam, developed a cost-effective prototype for building vegetable crop enclosures. These types of enclosures are normally cost prohibitive for small farmers, as hipping to Guam is costly. Grantees also help connect underserved farmers and ranchers to USDA resources and services. Since 2010, the 2501 Program has provided more than $194 million dollars to fund more than 615 projects. https://lnkd.in/eSUxRcJz

Farmer, AgVocate and Sustainability Professional dedicated to regenerating natural systems, strengthening rural communities, and building impactful value chain partnership.
What does the future of farming look like? As a farmer, I have spent countless sleepless nights thinking about my operation and the challenges we face. Many of my challenges are local, like dwindling water resources or prolonged periods of drought and extreme weather. Some are national, from increasing environmental regulations to changing consumer sentiment. A few, like climate change are existential and require global action to prevent. Farmers are on the front lines when it comes to tackling these challenges and should be the first ones consulted on solutions. Listening to farmers is the first step and the video below highlights how #TeamBayer is paying attention.
#TeamBayer is connecting the dots in agriculture #forbetter. Farmers around the world are faced with numerous challenges, and only by joining our forces we can come up with the solutions they need to keep their operations viable in the future while producing enough food for a growing population. Two weeks ago, we invited various stakeholders, including farmers, NGOs, global change makers, food chain partners, and research partners to our Bayer | Crop Science headquarters in Monheim, Germany to drive the dialogue with farmers and putting their perspectives in the spotlight. Thanks to all our participants for the profound discussion and high-level engagement and especially to our four farmers Scott Henry, Marcus Holtkötter, Onyaole Koku, and Pedro Vigneau for sharing their stories and insights from the farming communities. Also, a big thank you to my colleagues for giving farmers the credit they deserve and working with dedication towards achieving our mission #HealthForAll #HungerForNone. #FarmerVoice #RegenerativeAgriculture #AgInnovation

Happy #AgDay24! National Ag Day recognizes and celebrates the abundance provided by American agriculture. Join us today to show appreciation for all the farmers and growers who keep us fed, and contribute to a safe and reliable global food supply! National Ag Day is organized by the #AgricultureCouncilofAmerica (ACA). "ACA is a nonprofit organization composed of leaders in the agricultural, food and fiber community, dedicating its efforts to increasing the public's awareness of agriculture's role in modern society." We are proud to be part of the #AgIndustry, and to support growers in their mission to feed the world. #Growers facing nematode problems know firsthand how these destructive pests can wreak havoc on crops, ultimately costing billions in economic damages and lessening the amount of food available to the world. Thankfully, growers have a power solution against nematodes: TELONE™. Using TELONE™ to prep the soil ahead of planting helps create a zone of protection for developing roots to establish into healthy plants, with improved quality and increased yields. TELONE™ helps farmers maximize their crop outputs and continue to feed a growing global population. You can read more about ACA and it's mission, here: https://www.agday.org/ To learn more about TELONE™ visit www.teleosag.com #AmericanAg #AgIndustry #AgDay24 #AgDay2024 #Agriculture #feedtheworld #foodsupply #globalfoodsupply #soilprep #prepthesoil #zoneofprotection #HealthySoil #Sustainability #SustainableFood #GrowingAClimateForTomorrow #NationalAgDay #NationalAgDay2024

TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GROW Good morning, fellow farmers! As we embrace the dawn of a new day, let's draw inspiration from the timeless wisdom found in Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." This scripture reminds us of the profound responsibility we have in nurturing the next generation of farmers. Just as a seed needs proper care and cultivation to thrive, so too do our young farmers require guidance, mentorship, and education to succeed in the agricultural journey. Let's commit ourselves to passing down not only practical farming knowledge but also values of hard work, resilience, and stewardship of the land. Let's share our experiences, lessons learned, and innovative practices with those who are just starting out, ensuring that they are well-equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities of farming life. As we tend to our fields and livestock today, let's remember the importance of investing in the future of agriculture by investing in our youth. Let's be mentors, role models, and sources of encouragement for the next generation of farmers, knowing that the legacy we leave behind will shape the landscape of farming for years to come. May this day be filled with bountiful harvests, fruitful endeavors, and the satisfaction of knowing that we are sowing seeds of knowledge and empowerment for the future of farming. 🌱🚜 For Expert Guidance and Supplies, Visit JENEC AgroVet: 📍 Nakadoli Market, Kitwe: Shop No. 391 📞 0968654042 | 0979168061
