A Study in Cover Crops | Part 2: Food for the Soil 🌱 The first rule of organic farming is that what we take from the land, we must return in equal measure. One way we achieve this is by planting carefully chosen cover crops in the wintertime. A favorite here at Frog's Leap is the fantastic faba bean. These small but mighty legumes have bacteria on their roots that fix nitrogen; a vital nutrient that the vines will use for healthy growth and water uptake.
