Baltimore District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Post

An update from the Key Bridge Response: As part of the #FSKBridge Unified Command, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the US Navy Supervisor of Salvage & Diving today restored the Fort McHenry Federal Channel to its original operational dimensions of 700 feet wide and 50 feet deep for commercial maritime transit through the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore. Surveying and removal of steel at and below the 50-foot mud-line will continue to ensure future dredging operations are not impacted. https://lnkd.in/gPu98C8x

Very proud of the team that did this. When everything is perfect a project like this would take a year or more. To do it in only a few weeks is completely amazing. Getting all those large cranes, arranging for staging areas, getting explosive demolition contracted and approved, coordinating with utilities, divers, police, and many agencies is a massive undertaking. I hope someone writes a book about how this was done.

It is amazing how fast this work was done. I am sure many worked sleepless nights to get here this quick. Kudos to the team!

Great job done safely and very efficiently.

With all due respect to AI, this feat wouldn't't have been possible without amazing human beings. When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Congrats on a job well done. Now, let's build a bridge!
