This is something we may not consider on a regular basis but plays a critical role in the quality and safety of our everyday products: non destructive testing. For those who aren't familiar, NDT is a suite of techniques we use to evaluate the properties of a material, component, or system without causing damage. The Iridium191 isotope we produce is the basis for NDT. And why does that matter so much? Turned into Iridium192 it's characteristics make it excellent for penetrating thick, dense materials, giving inspectors a clear image on wha's going on inside. This is crucial for detecting flaws or defects that might compromise the structural integrity or safety of the material.

The animation explains in simple terms the technique called Non-Destructive Testing using radiation and its importance in everyday life 👇
