Strategize to increase service levels improving guest, owner and team member satisfaction, executes and ensures compliance with overall HGV vision, quality assurance and brand standards. Deals comfortably with organizational politics, navigating complexities of the organization easily. Has a clear understanding of other groups' business priorities, working to develop collaborations to meet business goals. Uses knowledge of organizational culture to achieve objectives. Anticipates future trends and implications accurately. Builds driven and breakthrough strategies that show a clear connection between vision and action. Formulate a clear strategy and maps the aggressive steps that will clearly accelerate the organization toward its strategic goals. Articulate a vision which is compelling, encouraged, and relatable by all Show personal dedication to the vision through ones own actions and behavior Create milestones and symbols to rally support behind the vision and how to achieve it Develops positive organization-wide energy, with purpose and optimism for the future. Sets objectives to align with broader organizational goals. Breaks down objectives into appropriate actions, initiatives, milestones and schedule Focus on the highest priorities and sets aside less critical tasks. Anticipate potential obstacles and develops excellent contingency plans Display confidence under pressure, maintaining focus and composure in stressful situations Communicate effectively through crisis and high pressure situations. Maintain a positive attitude and forward-thinking approach despite adversity, troubling circumstances or setbacks. Just a thought. An important one. One which I question. A hospitality colleague of mine asked me a question today after being told they lost an opportunity to someone that had years ahead of them. Why are the corporate folks afraid of hiring "first time" anything? "Why do corporate folks celebrate a facade of growing people when they constantly after each posting, post for executive property level positions, such as GM, AGM, DOO, they hire people who have had those jobs for 5-10-15 years?" "Have the area and regional managers become complacent, overwhelmed, overworked that they pretend there are no future generations that they can bet on?" "Why can not I not become the next best thing for this organization given my track record and commitment?" So the question I begin to ask, when is it time? When is it time to grow the next generation? When is it the next time to grow the next general manager? When is is the next time to bet on the next guy? I simply answered, "I do not know".
