We wrapped up Earth Month with a sold-out customization workshop hosted by FABSCRAP at Reclectic, URBN’s latest endeavor to find more eco-conscious solutions for products that can’t be sold at retail. Attendees tapped into their creativity, thrifted accessories, and fabric waste to give new life to garments. 100% of ticket proceeds and 5% of Reclectic's day-of sales, totaling over $7,000, were donated to Fabscrap!

Is your inventory of #SupplyChainGeek swag running low? Well, today is the day to fix that! Because today is National Barcode Day - celebrating 50 years since the first barcode was used to scan a pack of Wrigley's gum at a grocery store in Troy, Ohio. And to celebrate, the folks at Barcoding, Inc. are donating all the proceeds from their online store to one of my favorite non-profits: the American Logistics Aid Network. Link to the online store in the comments below. ~Mr. Supply Chain #AlwaysBeLearning #SupplyChain #Logistics #Technology

A heartfelt thank you to Tiana Lightfoot Svendsen for sharing such a crucial perspective on circularity! At GCNA, we're on a mission to transform how we approach item lifecycles and consumer habits. Did you know the average consumer discards nearly 82 pounds of clothing yearly? Imagine the environmental impact if we pivot towards donating to organizations championing sustainable solutions! Your insights during our recent gathering were invaluable. It's refreshing to find like-minded individuals committed to changing the narrative. Let's continue advocating for a paradigm shift and embracing reuse as the highest and best use for items. 🔄 Together, we can make a lasting impact! 💚 #CircularEconomy #SustainabilityChampions #GCNA #ReuseRevolution
Ever wonder what happens to the things you donate? Tim O’Neal and his all-star team at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona gave a behind the scenes look at their operation. Goodwill has been helping keep material out of the landfill since its founding in 1902. 🛒 https://shopgoodwill.com/ is a great place to buy items in excellent condition, many with the tags still on. It is important to remember the three R's when shopping! #REDUCE = ask yourself if you really need to buy anything or can you work with what you already have. #REUSE = go thrift shopping and buy second hand whenever you can. And wear the heck out of what you buy before you #RECYCLE = donating. Remind your contacts that there are stores like Goodwill for clothing donation. Textiles do NOT go in curbside recycling. In the photo below a supervisor scans the clothes to determine their composition. These items did not sell in Goodwill stores after about a 6-week period. In addition to e-commerce, Goodwill sells material at a low cost per pound to a broker based on size and season and ships bales globally. #goodwill #ecommerce #textileindustry

Why would you do that to yourself? Recently, I was talking to a client and I was honestly in a bit of a shock at how much hassle she was putting herself into. She was leading one of the prominent non-profits in New York City and they were arranging an awareness campaign on a big scale. For that, they needed 3000 T-shirts. When I mean t-shirts, I just mean t-shirts. For printing on those t-shirts, they had given a contract for 3000 t-shirts to someone else. From our company, they just wanted plain T-shirts. You heard it right! Now, I did not mind supplying blank T-shirts and I agreed (obviously). But I advised the client on why she was getting into a more stressful and difficult-to-coordinate situation of having to deal with multiple suppliers or vendors. If she would not have already signed the deal, our company would have supplied t-shirts with printing on them, ironed ad ready to wear. Whereas now, the t-shirts would go to her, from there it would be sent to printing, and from there they would come back and then will be ready to wear. For any organization, a competent one-stop solution does nothing but good. What are your thoughts? Have a Nice Day, Wali Hashmi Chief Executive Officer #newyorkcity #nonprofit #ChessTitanApparels #garments #apparels #management

Inspire change with Corrugated Boxes! 📦 In a world often marked by the hustle and bustle of commerce, where transactions seem detached and impersonal, I find comfort in the profound notion that donation isn’t merely an act of giving - it’s about the difference we create in others' lives through the kindness we share. 📦 A corrugated box, brimming with essentials for others, is a silent messenger of compassion. The significance of these boxes extends beyond the pragmatic. These boxes aren’t just for carrying things- they hold hope and the power to make a difference. They embody the shared goodwill of those contributing to a bigger cause. Wondering why corrugated boxes are getting a special mention here? It is because of their versatility. Beyond their primary purpose of carrying clothing, food, and other belongings, our corrugated boxes offer the added dimension of repurposing. They can be transformed into creative essentials, doubling as pen stands, crafting materials, and more. Our boxes aren’t just packaging they’re a canvas for your creativity and resourcefulness. May these boxes continue to weave stories of hope and creativity reminding us that kindness lies in the heartfelt intention behind each donation. Share your stories of giving, inspire others, and let’s spread the word that generosity comes in corrugated boxes. 💫 #DonateWithImpact #CorrugatedGiving #CorrugatedKindness #CorrugatedBoxes #KIG #corrugatedpackaging

On this #GivingTuesday, The LaunchPad at UT Austin has set a goal of raising $15K for #StartUPGrants - a program that awards microgrants to undergraduate entrepreneurs every semester. Donate Here: give.utexas.edu We are proud to have awarded $106.5K in grant funding across 96 unique individuals since the program began in 2021. Past grants have been used to purchase styling equipment for a barber business, t-shirts for a screen printing service, filing fees for establishing an LLC, and much more! As a 100% self-funded unit, every dollar raised today will go directly into the hands of a student founder. Help us continue to support students in their entrepreneurial pursuits by donating with the link below, or, if you are unable to give financially, share your network by tagging friends and family who may care about our mission.
