Happy Juneteenth! Every year, the URBNBlack Employee Resource Group (ERG) recognizes Juneteenth with educational content for our URBN community. Evolving this approach for 2024, URBNBlack and their corporate counterparts are working together to develop educational and service activities with URBN nonprofit partner ACHIEVEability, an organization that has an incredible impact on Black and Brown communities in West Philadelphia. We'd like to applaud the members of our URBNBlack ERG for making this moment a catalyst for change in our beloved hometown. Watch this space for more. And in the meantime, check out a few of the Black-owned businesses our community loves: Daily Dressings > https://lnkd.in/ePBYQXxj Not a Bad Life > https://lnkd.in/enedzMkT Ginja Snap > https://lnkd.in/e562AFfC Erin and Avery > https://lnkd.in/eaJQ3Sq9 CThree > https://lnkd.in/eUNRHhcU

Happy Juneteenth! Today marks the 3rd annual federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in 1865, and honoring their legacy of power and resilience. Millions of grassroots activists, artists, and scholars fought for Juneteenth's official recognition as a momentous day in American history. Just as grassroots activism played a crucial role in nationally honoring Juneteenth, it is also an immense driving force in our current clean energy revolution. While many BIPOC-led nonprofits serve areas overburdened by climate change, transitioning to solar is one way these organizations build a green world for future generations. From providing after school youth groups in Oakland, California, to building community-run food systems in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Black-led nonprofits are providing on-the-ground resources and services to their communities. RE-volv proudly stands with our nonprofit partners who advance clean energy equity through solar.
