This was not my first time to visit Nanoscribe. At the welcome dinner, I met Martin who had been waiting for a while. He recognized me at first sight and immediately gave me a big greeting embrace. I was here to participate in the user meeting and give a presentation. Within just two days, from resins to printing, from research to application, participating users brought different topics and ideas from various angles, especially the wonderful invitation reports, which gave me a deeper understanding of the possibilities of this technology. Thanks to the Nanoscribe experts for solving my recent questions. Unfortunately, the time was too short and I forgot to take more pictures with Martin and the experts. On the stage of the photonic field, PHIX Photonics Assembly is a young junior who is only 6 years old but we are going to move to our new building in one week! We focus on photonic packaging. Why did I travel to Germany this week? One word: drupa. 👇 I've always believed in the power of continuous learning and growth. This week, from May 28th to June 4th, I am thrilled to be attending the renowned exhibition, drupa – no. 1 for printing technologies, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Today marks my third day at this incredible event, and already, the experiences have been nothing short of transformative. Walking through the vast halls of drupa, surrounded by the latest innovations and technology in the printing and packaging industry, I am reminded of why I value these exhibitions so deeply. Here’s why attending events like drupa is crucial for professionals at any level: 1. Innovation at Your Fingertips Witnessing cutting-edge technology and new product launches first-hand is an unparalleled experience. Over 300 ZEISS Industrial Metrology employees worldwide are getting involved with A Heart for Science. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier commended this initiative at the Bürgerfest (Citizens’ festival) in Berlin, Germany. A Heart for Science (AH4S) only exists because of ZEISS employees' willingness to get involved and give of their free time: Their objective is to awaken enthusiasm for nature and #technology among young people. And who could do that better than the people who are already pushing the boundaries of what is technically feasible at ZEISS today? The volunteers pass on their knowledge to the explorers of tomorrow. On November 29, the CICAM project partners (Spanflug Technologies, OPEN MIND Technologies AG , and Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Betriebswissenschaften, TUM) attended an interesting project meeting in Munich. During the meeting, the partners reviewed the project’s current status and discussed the next steps. This brought us partners one step closer to reaching the project’s goal, which is to simplify CAM-planning (CAM: computer-aided manufacturing) for hybrid manufacturing processes using machine learning. We look forward to working closely together within the next two years and optimizing CAM-planning for wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) and subsequent post-processing.
