This time last year, we asked you to share your workforce priorities and concerns through a national Tourism Staff and Skills survey. Your responses were pivotal in QTIC's advocacy efforts at the 2022 Tourism Jobs Summit and in our engagement with Austrade on policy matters. Thanks to the success of last year’s survey in bringing about much-needed investment and major policy changes, we’re asking you to provide your feedback once again. Your responses will help us identify the top tourism staffing and skills needs nationwide. These results will be shared with Austrade and used when QTIC advocates on behalf of Australia’s tourism industry. The survey will, for example, provide pivotal information when we push for improvements to working holiday maker visas. Your time is valuable, but we urge you to complete the survey as your feedback is critical. No one is better placed to guide investment in Australian tourism than you: https://ow.ly/28jT50PHjrg #tourismmatters

Today marks the formal start of our road to creating a world class tourism data system. We are excited to share the release of the Tourism Data Leadership Group's (TDLG) Strategic Business Plan 2024 – 2025. This plan provides a blueprint for the immediate future of the tourism data system. The Plan provides a clear roadmap for how the full $5 million of the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) committed to improving the tourism data system is to be spent. The Minister for Tourism and Hospitality has endorsed the plan. The Plan primarily focuses on investing into foundational data gaps and working towards setting up appropriate oversight and stable funding. These actions will contribute towards the TDLG’s vision of a world-class tourism data system and will be largely implemented by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). In producing the Plan, the TDLG anticipate the improvements they are recommending will contribute to a range of longer-term outcomes. This includes thriving regions, in which there is good social licence for tourism, and consideration of environmental constraints. Read through the plan here: Tourism Data Leadership Group | Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (mbie.govt.nz) Among the initiatives is the Tourism Data Partnership Fund (TDPF). This fund will provide up to $400,000 in grants into tourism and hospitability industry bodies co-funded initiatives that will contribute towards a more productive and environmentally astute tourism and hospitality sector. The TDPF will open on 22 July 2024 with successful applicants expected to be announced late September 2024. Guidance material, eligibility criteria and application templates can be found on the TDFP page on the MBIE website: Tourism Data Partnership Fund | Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (mbie.govt.nz)

Global Perspective — Today, the Chinese National Day, also known as the Golden Week holiday, takes place on the first week of October every year. This holiday commemorates the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949. Like the Spring Festival, this long holiday presents another opportunity for people to travel home and reunite with families. Many families and friends also use the Golden Week to travel, and domestic tourist attractions are usually crowded during this period. At Santa Fe, we are focused on the movement of people—helping them integrate into new countries and communities. We enjoy sharing the fascinating nuances of the places where we help people work, live, and thrive. International relocations work best when people have a global mindset and a grounding in the cultural traditions and sensitivities of local systems and societies. Let us be part of your total relocation journey to success. #GlobalPerspectives #SantaFeRelocation #AssignmentManagement #CompensationManagement #DestinationServices #Immigration #Moving #GlobalMobility #HumanResources #HR #GlobalMobilityMadeEasy

Australia topped the list of desirable country destinations in 2023 according to a recent study of 150,000 people in 188 countries by Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The survey elicited workers’ attitudes on various topics, including their willingness to move abroad for work, the countries they would most like to work in, their reasons for choosing those countries, and their expectations of their future employers in a new country. Australia was strongly favored for quality of job opportunities; for quality of life; and for income, tax, and cost of living—as well as for safety, stability, and security. https://lnkd.in/gf-kh4T3
