Today I got curious about the tourism industry in Africa
I had to collect insight which I thought maybe was smart to share with my LinkedIn brothers and sisters
DID YOU KNOW?
The tourism business is increasingly vital to the world economy, accounting for 5% of GDP, 30% of service exports, and 235 million jobs.
Every year, roughly one billion individuals travel abroad. By 2030, consumer spending on tourism, hospitality, and recreation in Africa is expected to reach $261.77 billion, up $137.87 billion from 2015.
From 1998 to 2015, service exports, including "industries without smokestacks" such as tourism, grew around six times faster than product exports in Africa.
Most countries in the region have already drafted strategic plans to grow tourism as an economic opportunity and development accelerator, having recognized its potential.
For instance, Gambia, Kenya, South Africa, and Tanzania are all making considerable.
Do you have any further thoughts on this
I would be happy to understand different perspectives and also connect with like-minded people on LinkedIn
