🚀 HEY LELO 🚀 I am thrilled to share that the Toystory team made up of Costanza Clot, Michela Bruno, Lara Elis Amione, Sofia Pasquero and I have taken the first step towards developing the "Hey Lelo" project. 🔥 We've been selected by the #FrancescoMorelliFoundation for the #GrantAwardFrancescoMorelli to craft the Business Plan for our Thesis Project, created during our studies in Communication Design at IED Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin, in order to develop our idea. We had the opportunity to participate in two webinars that have significantly influenced our journey: 📅 The first webinar on October 5th, titled "Venture Building Essentials: From the Thesis Project to a Concrete Business Plan," was hosted by Donatella Pasotto (Project Manager at Francesco Morelli Foundation) and Rasa Strumskyte (Co-Founder & VP Business Development at #TalentGarden). Sponsored by Talent Garden Innovation School, the webinar shed light on the Business Model Canvas and Startup Ecosystem. ✏️The second webinar on October 11th, called "Business Modelling: Navigating Market Identification, Profit Generation, and Expense Management," was hosted by Santiago Bima and Riccardo Balbo and delved deep into Business Modelling and Pricing Strategies. 🧠 These webinars have equipped us with the tools to turn our "Hey Lelo" idea into a reality. We’re honoring the memory of our late co-founder Todd Mockler, PhD, with the second annual Mockler Innovator Award. Nominations are open now for our team members, with an official announcement coming later this quarter. Todd had an innate curiosity about the natural world and a drive to leverage plant and data science to solve big challenges. He applied rigorous standards to all his technical endeavors, but what truly set him apart was his ability to combine scientific excellence with an entrepreneurial mindset. Todd also saw science as a fundamental source of innovation that could deliver optimum impact when it was stewarded with strong business acumen, such as: -Recognizing the economic value of a technical idea and how a scientific discovery could be applied to grow or defend a business. -Applying an ROI mindset to help prioritize and justify the cost of technical investments. -Effectively conveying the significance and potential impact of scientific work to both technical and non-technical audiences. My recent expedition through the European Innovation Academy (EIA) has truly reshaped my perspective on business and relationships. Let me take you on a journey of how this immersive experience honed my abilities in critical aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship. 1. Mastering the Customer-Centric Approach: Embarking on innovation and entrepreneurship starts with truly understanding the world of #customers. We dived deep into their #needs, validating #assumptions through interviews and surveys for firsthand insights. The magic of the #designthinking approach allowed us to craft solutions that deeply resonate with our audience. And remember, it's not about falling in love with your solution; it's about deeply understanding and falling in love with the problem. 2. The Art of Collaborative Innovation: Innovation thrives when minds converge. Collaborating seamlessly within a #team has become my superpower. We built #trust and #communication through interactive exercises and workshops, combining diverse talents and perspectives to create an environment where groundbreaking ideas flourish. Regular #brainstorming sessions ensured we stayed aligned and focused on the bigger picture. 3. Mentorship and Active Listening: Engaging with mentors at EIA was like opening a treasure trove of knowledge. The art of #activelistening and learning from seasoned experts went beyond the classroom, guiding me through the labyrinth of entrepreneurship. Applying their wisdom to my journey, I learned to navigate challenges and make informed #decisions with confidence. 4. Investor Engagement: EIA equipped me with a comprehensive skill set, decoding the world of investors. From perfecting #pitch skills to mastering the art of #persuasion and #storytelling, I now bridge the gap between vision and support. Crafting compelling narratives that captivate investors emotionally and logically has become second nature. Reflecting on my EIA experience, these skills are not just tools; they are the essence of thriving in the exhilarating world of #innovation. P.S.
