How can the so-called Black Caucus watch little children of color being slaughtered and remain silent? I know that you take Israel's AIPAC money, so you are just like Judas going against Jesus taking his pieces of silver. If Biden wanted to pass a bill to put us back into slavery, would you vote for it? What Happened to America? We have a President who is assisting Israel in killing innocent children. A Democratic Party that ignores the evil in our White House, while the Republican Party is too afraid to Impeach Biden due to their weakness. What kind of country has America become? It is no longer a country of Peace, let alone Democracy or Justice. It has become a Totalitarian country filled with hate and the lust for world destruction. Who would have ever thought that America who fought the Nazis who were massacring Jews, would today join Jews to massacre innocent Palestinian children? A country which once considered a Godly country now has become Satanic and Evil supporting Israel’s genocide.

The whole reason we started talking to Christine White and Alex Zablah about a in-semester internship/course was because of the lack of fairness in these summer opportunities today. So as I read a piece like this, three things come to mind: 1. Internships have to be meaningful and real, not just show and tell. 2. If the opportunity is only open to those who can afford to rent an apartment in NYC or San Francisco, isn’t it just reinforcing the haves/have nots that are driving inequity in the workplace today? 3. “Real” jobs definitely still provide learning opportunity, even if they don’t come with cold brew on tap and free breakfast. Having worked in pubs and retail, I’m a better employee and boss today than if I’d never had that experience.

Anyone else relate to this perspective on the need for teens to have a job before starting a career? A get your hands greasy, clothes dirty, serve irrate customers, callus building, minimum wage, sweaty brow, monotonous, type of job? Shoulder-to-shoulder teamwork, work product excellence, and gritty determination are all in short supply for grads and relying on college classes or an internship, continues to be woefully disappointing. The real question is: "How is character built?" "While it can seem like kids in fancy internships with carefully curated résumés are better prepared for life, that may not be entirely true. Seeing the world from the point of view of the person producing the cup of coffee or ringing up a cash register may be more valuable in many ways than doing whatever a 19-year-old does in an office."
