🌱  We're happy to share our partnership in the project "CCI4Change: Facilitation of Citizens’ Energy Consumption Behavioral Change in BS Cities and Municipalities", funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea programme. ⚡️  #CCI4Change will work to empower local authorities and creative and cultural professionals to collaborate in synergy, embracing mutual benefits. Local authorities gain access to imaginative ideas, enable citizen engagement and co-creation, enriching their sustainability initiatives, while creative professionals find new possibilities of collaboration, new usage of their professional skills in the creation of sustainable solutions, new avenues for self-expression and income generation. Citizen engagement is key to fining new solutions.  The CCI4Change project is implemented from August 2023 until July 2025, its total budget is 470,000 euros, of which 80%, or 380 000 euros, come from the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme and the remaining 20 percent from the project partners. ℹ️ Read more about the project and its partners ➡️  https://bit.ly/40VhSQG 

What a great journey we are on!! Local Authorities as cities/municipalities can do so much when partnering up with their creatives - yet a push is needed to format pathways for new forms of collaborations with impact. Intermediary competences play a key role 👋

Scale requires collaboration. Something I’ve been hearing a lot recently, and reinforced in the #CCBC24 #finance session w/ Joanna Silver, James Shaw, Jason Patrick and Will Thomson, is the importance of scale in the attractiveness of Aotearoa #NewZealand to international investors. #Capital is there, but there is a need to aggregate and consolidate to create projects and initiatives of sufficient scale to be attractive. I’d argue a key theme emerging from the conference kōrero (both on panels and in breaks) is the importance of intra- and cross-sector #collaboration. Both to find those project #opportunities, but also to better understand and share knowledge around, the #system challenges we face. We’re getting better within sectors (but need to overcome the real and perceived competition/collusion concerns), but have a ways to go between sectors. The packed conference season that we’rec in the middle of at the moment seems to be case in point for this. How do we bring all the various conferences, actors and kōrero together - CCBC, #BuildingNations, #LGNZ, #RIAA, #FSC… - to foster cross-sector, cross-discipline aggregation. #LeadingClimateAction #SustainableBusiness Sustainable Business Council NZ Environmental Defence Society (EDS) Climate Leaders Coalition

📣 Exciting news: the BERNARDO Project has officially launched! 🌊 Understanding the marine ecosystem is crucial for our global carbon budget. The BERNARDO project aims to balance the regional marine carbon budget, and provide marine industries and policymakers with vital information to effectively address climate change. Over the next three years, this collaborative effort between knowledge institutes and private companies will: 1️⃣ Develop fit-for-purpose marine carbon observations to balance the marine carbon budget in the Belgian part of the North Sea. 2️⃣ Evaluate the impact of Blue Economy activities on marine carbon levels. 3️⃣ Lay the groundwork for the first industrial applications of natural marine carbon accounting.
