Hello Network! Just a quick thought for you all. As I navigate the journey toward my summer internship, I've come to realize the power of authenticity in the corporate landscape after some very meaningful conversations. In a world that often emphasizes polished characteristics, I believe that genuine connections and authenticity are the keys to unlocking meaningful opportunities. Not just in the corporate world, but all around us! Embrace uniqueness as a strength. Let's foster a corporate culture that values realness, empowering each other to succeed authentically. #Authenticity #CorporateCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment

🎉 Celebrating as a team is not just about marking achievements but also about the invaluable connections we forge. Our team has a strong bond, although we might not see each other in person daily since we all have - and truly appreciate - the WFH option. However, our team has shown that distance doesn't hinder our strong team spirit and team approach to work. That's also because we take the time to celebrate together. This week, we had a wonderful birthday to appreciate and a farewell to our fabulous interns in our Vinnies Victoria marcomms team - which was, of course, also a bit sad 😑 Welcoming interns after a while was really enriching. They brought fresh perspectives that let us see new horizons for our work and highlighted the importance and joy of working collaboratively and sharing the good moments. As you can see, even celebrating remotely can be inclusive. Here's to the strength of our team, the power of connections, and the enriching experiences that unfold when we celebrate together and to interns. 🎉 #bestteam #WFH #inclusivity #SharedSuccess #Internships #appreciation #workculture #achievements #Fridayreflection #teamwork #workrelationships

When you’re putting together your first team, there are always questions about what kind of talent pool you’ll have, will they be the right fit for your mission, will they help you grow while you help them grow, will they be worth the time… Start-ups are still creating the systems and processes that make a business run like a well-oiled machine, so there are too many unknowns. And bringing in new people is always a gamble. PJ Bellantoni & I were blown away by the talent applying for our internships as we were interviewing candidates. The experience, the passion, and the diversity in almost every way was incredible. It forced us to move past our idea of hiring one or two interns and hire SIX. Three started this week and another attended our May meet and greet before starting Monday. This group did NOT disappoint!! Seeing Avery Fly, Alexis Hallum, Jalen Mitchell, and Elena Masio come together with PJ, myself, and others in the Jax sports community and fit IN and TOGETHER like we’ve been a team for YEARS was indescribable. Despite having very different experience and backgrounds, we were immediately a TEAM…because what ties us together is the business mission and hearts to serve. Can’t wait to add Kitan Olaleke-Banjo and Kinsley Reliford to this already extraordinary team in the next month!!! This is going to be a GREAT summer 😃 #summerdreamteam #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #interns #internship #family #sports #sportsindustry #linkedinsports #athletics #culture #cultureunderconstruction

One of the most fun parts of being an adult is giving advice that you didn’t follow. For example, I teach media and entertainment, and there’s what I say and what I did: Be in LA. - I first moved to NYC. Good internships can really launch a career. - I interned at infamous Troma. When you graduate and want to start a career, focus and work hard. - After college, I spent 18 months in Europe, backpacking and getting an MA in Shakespearean Studies. Networking can mean everything. - In my 20s, I didn’t see the point of that. I’d rather talk to non-film people. Aim for larger, well-known companies. It's easier to get out of them than into them. – After Troma, I worked for a then unknown producer in NYC. Your late 20s can be a key defining point in your career. – At 28, I quit my job in NYC as a VP in Development and took a 6-month trip around the world to move to LA. When I started, I did almost everything the hard way. But I've worked hard and been very, very fortunate. I ended up working on films with Alan Alda, Patricia Arquette, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Téa Leoni, Mary Tyler Moore, David Russell, and Ben Stiller. Then I got a PhD from Berkeley and teach now. So, there’s that. #mediacareers #students #entertainment #internships

Did we have the interns do this post? I hope so! Great start for these three. We're proud to offer these opportunities for young professionals to connect not only with jobs and careers in this area but with its quality of life, too. This is one of those spots we get to practice what we preach. #workforce #YoungProfessionals #StayHere

Today we welcomed the remainder of our 2024 summer interns. Welcome! To make sure all our interns get the most of their experience, we asked Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer Alison Nasisi, along with three former interns now full-time colleagues, what advice they have for our Class of 2024 interns. Your supervisor assigned a group project to you and another summer intern. It's understood that only one of you will be hired back after graduation. You tried to engage the other intern for the project but he said he has too much on his plate. You worked all weekend figuring out how the project should be done. On Monday, the other intern came and said, "So where are we at for the project? Brief me about our progress, would you?". Being a team player, you gave him the every output of your hard work before you realized, "Is he going to take the credit of the work?". Working with a competing intern is tough. He could stab your back at worst or be your biggest ally and friend at best. Keep a childlike optimism in people, but be prepared to adapt to the cruel reality of competition. - Find out more @ www.alexwongcoaching.com
