Warehouse Visit number 5️⃣2️⃣ of 8️⃣0️⃣ completed ✅️ Commodity Centre Group is a longstanding member of the UK Warehousing Association with 2.5m sq ft of global warehouses storing commodities like coffee ☕️ cocoa 🍫 nuts 🥜 and sugar 🍬 I was delighted to be joined by former Home Secretary #PritiPatel for a tour of their HQ where we saw German Bionic exoskeletons in use for container unloading 🏋♀️ visited ambient and temp controlled 🌡 buildings and had a photo 📸 with the women ♀️ (it's a 50:50 workforce). Thanks to MD Matthew Bibb FCILT for inviting us 🙏 and to all his team for a wonderful visit, including Vikki Baker who recently passed our Warehouse Manager CPC qualification 👏 as well as James Paling, Jena Hopper and everyone else 😊

Warehouse Visit number 5️⃣5️⃣ of 8️⃣0️⃣ completed ✅️ With the growth 📈 of the physical entertainment market for music and film (largely driven by vinyl) 🎙📼💿🎧🎛 it was brilliant to visit the #LogisticalDreamhouse today where DP World stock over 65,000 SKUs for UDS, the distributor for virtually all the music labels 🎶 Retail replenishment is a bit like ecommerce because indie record shops hold so few of each item; and nothing is ever delisted, so the back catalogue just keeps on growing 🙀 Since opening this flagship site last year, on a new Tritax Symmetry development in Bicester, and introducing automation from Locus Robotics, throughput has improved dramatically❗️ It was also an honour to meet Mechelle from Hummingbird, a local charity which supports people with cancer, along with their friends, family and colleagues 🥰 Thanks to Neil Lander Julie Low George Gailey their new colleague Alex Hamilton and all the team 👏

Warehouse Visit number 5️⃣4️⃣ of 8️⃣0️⃣ completed ✅️ Everyone loves a safe and tidy warehouse which is where IWS Group and their four specialist group companies come in ⛑️🗄 On today's visit to IWS's Brandsafe site in Milton Keynes I learned about hardware design and product testing to meet the needs of a wide range of customers 🤩 and got to have a go at installing racking protection. Great to meet passionate leaders Susy Keating, Stewart Bourn and Gary Coleman and some brilliant team members too including a safety-conscious Cliff Richard-style singing bodybuilder 🏋♂️ 🎶 (...and why not!?). Oh, and there were delicious homemade cakes too, in the charity bake-sale 😋 Shout out to sister companies Rack Group Anco Storage Equipment Ltd and Beaverswood® for their collective focus on the warehousing sector 👍 Thanks for a wonderful visit 🌟

Warehouse Visit number 5️⃣3️⃣ of 8️⃣0️⃣ completed ✅️ At Aztek Logistics Ltd everything is so "on brand" that even their Linde Material Handling UK forklift trucks are blue 💙😲 After moving to this site in Letchworth in 2008, they expanded from transport-only 🚚 into warehousing and have since diversified into self-storage too 📈 The range of goods includes pasta and tomatoes 🍅 😋 so BRCGS accreditation is critical. There are also industrial clients, with heavy weights ⚖️ (for windows) and chains ⛓️ (for MHE). Thank you to Stuart Charter and Duncan Pannell for all your ongoing support for UK Warehousing Association and for organising this valuable visit 😊
