Today was nothing short of extraordinary. I had the privilege of meeting Sanjiv Mehta uncle, a name synonymous with visionary leadership and unparalleled business acumen. In the world of B-school classrooms, his journey and strategies are nothing short of folklore. We have studied his every move, from his revolutionary concept of WIMI (Winning in Many Indias) to his exemplary approach to cost savings and steering the Unilever ship through unprecedented growth while chairing operations in 30 countries.
Meeting him in person was surreal. The charm and poise he exudes are truly remarkable. It’s not an overstatement to say that Sanjiv Mehta to the corporate world is what SRK is to Bollywood or Tendulkar is to cricket. His presence commands respect and admiration, much like these legends in their fields.
Listening to his insights firsthand and experiencing his vibrant energy was inspirational. His approach to business, coupled with a deep understanding of diverse markets, sets him apart as a leader par excellence. He has not only grown Unilever’s business multifold but also cultivated a culture of excellence and innovation within the organization.
What a man, what a vibe! Meeting Sanjiv Mehta has been one of the highlights of my journey, reaffirming my belief in the power of visionary leadership. Here’s to learning from the best and striving to make a significant impact in the world of business.

REFLECTING ON 2023 EFFORTS WITH IWCNZ
This end-of-year review from the Islamic Women's Council of New Zealand (IWCNZ) is a solid visual depiction of our initiatives and the positive impact it’s had on the NZ Muslimah community. The video highlights our 2023 commitment to wellbeing, community cohesion, and sustainable leadership.
This is not just a summary of our activities; but a portfolio of a collective journey with each frame sharing aspects of the strength and resilience of our community and our team. As we compiled it, I was struck by the full spectrum of our experiences over the past 12 months - from trials to triumphs, tears to laughter, and self-doubt to creative breakthroughs. The exhaustion, the immense effort, the gratifying sense of accomplishment, the strategic planning, the iterative conversations - all these elements are woven into this work.
Watching it fills me with a personal sense of pride having overseen and guided the work. We've built a strong team, endured the difficulties, persevered, and created an impact, always with our community in mind.
Here’s to carrying it forward into 2024, Insha’Allah.
May Allah reward the team and the board for all their good efforts. Ameen.

😇 One of the most rewarding aspects of such an experience can be the friendships. Engaging with friends from different countries can lead to a deeper understanding of their cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles. It fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among us, as we share common goals.

And it’s a wrap! A great week of inspiration, learning, energy, and connections at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity alongside my amazing PepsiCo colleagues and some of the most brilliant minds in the creative industry.
From multiple thought-provoking panels, to small talks, to walking through the basement of the Palais exploring the amazing shortlisted and awarded work, I leave with some key highlights:
- Human Centricity and empathy are always the starting point. As brand builders, we have the collective responsibility to unpack true human insights and leverage our iconic brands to offer solutions through meaningful and relevant experiences.
- Creativity is a true multiplier of growth and impact on people, business, and the planet.
- Simplicity triumphs. The best ideas are the simplest ones, creatively brought to life.
- Consistency pays off. If the idea is routed in a human truth and your brand solves a human problem, don’t get bored of it, elevate it.
I also truly enjoyed my panel discussion hosted by Kantar’s Manaswita Singh and Mohamed Nabil Hayek alongside Rayan Karaky and Abdulaziz Elyas discussing the art and science of creative effectiveness in Saudi Arabia. I shared my thoughts on the Kingdom’s transformation that builds bridges between a rich past and a bright future, and the importance of un-learning a lot of the stereotypes to build emotional connections.
Let’s continue raising the bar on creativity and touching more hearts and minds along the way!

🌟 Celebrating Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion at OVO! 🌟
We are thrilled to recognize OVO as the "Most Improved Organisation" in the 2023 IIE Matrix exercise! 🎉
Under the leadership of Alessandro (Alex) Storer, Head of Belonging at OVO, the company has made significant strides in enhancing ethnic diversity. Over the past year, OVO has doubled the representation of Black, Asian, and other ethnic minorities from 7% to nearly 14%. But it's not just about the numbers; it's about creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
Some key initiatives that have driven this transformation include:
✅ Introduction of multi-faith rooms and flexible bank holidays.
✅ Rollout of anti-racism training for all senior leaders.
✅ Continuous engagement through the OVO Embrace Network.
✅ Partnerships with organizations like the Aleto Foundation, leading to the Aleto x OVO10 programme and the ground breaking Aleto x OVO Black Leadership Academy.
Being an Investing in Ethnicity member and participating in the Matrix exercise has provided OVO with a clear benchmark and areas for improvement, accelerating their progress in fostering a truly inclusive workplace.
We applaud OVO for their dedication to diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/eg8X6XKA 🌍✨
