Calling all XPX San Antonio Members! It is time for director nominations. The nomination committee will present the slate to the Board after the August member meeting, to be voted on in September. This year we will elect: ✅President ✅President Elect (replacing the Vice President title- so this becomes an automatic when the current President decides to step down) ✅Program Director (schedule member meetings and speakers, not including the Summit.) Taking on a Director’s position is a great way to learn about what we do and network with the other “doers” in our organization. Board meetings usually follow a membership meeting, and the duties of each position require only a few hours a month. Please consider volunteering for an hour or two each month. XPX San Antonio is a Texas 501( c)3 non-profit professional organization, and runs of the efforts of its members. “Somebody will do it” too often becomes “Nobody will do it.” Help us remain a vibrant and worthwhile organization for professionals. MPWRPeople is excited to announce the addition of Stacie Briley Goodman, CSSGB, also known as Systematic Stacie, to the Advisory Council as an advisor on operations. Over the past three decades, she has methodically cultivated her breadth of experience, education, and skills in operations management so that she can share her learnings with others and help them grow and achieve greatness. Her diverse background and skill sets have enabled her to provide operations improvement leadership from strategy through implementation stabilization across an array of industries and clients including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, and non-profit organizations. After years of traveling and providing project management, process engineering, and new solutions design services as a member of national and local firms, she founded Origamic Solutions LLC to focus on being a conductor of operational growth to community businesses. Through education, advisory, and delivery services she and her team are focused on helping clients achieve their strategic vision and operational goals through tactical planning and execution. As a Virginia SWaM certified business owner, she also shares her experience and knowledge with other companies to help them be prepared to achieve and renew their certifications smoothly. Finally, having been raised in a family of small business owners, she understands the importance of small businesses in the community, as well as their challenges and benefits. As a wife, mother, and business owner, she understands the importance of being able to interweave business and family with purpose, grace, communication, organization, and flexibility. She believes in extending that understanding and support to her clients as well. Fun Fact: While getting her business degree she also minored in music and often finds synergies between the two. Since music permeates her soul, and every Wonder Woman must know how to spin properly, you can find this superhero out on the dance floor refining her competitive ballroom dancing skills or just releasing some stress with friends. Periodically, as a non-profit organization, leaders review their governing documents and update them to remain consistent with regulations/laws, strategic vision, best and current practices. And that’s why at our recent Board of Directors meeting revisions to the NACE bylaws were approved (last updated in 2017). One of the most visible changes involves updating the titles of NACE leadership positions. To bring clarity to roles and due to our continued growth and current best practices for similarly situated associations, the Board made the decision to modify titles and roles. Moving forward, our previous Board President and Vice President positions will now be designated as Chair and Vice Chair; and instead of Executive Director, my title will now be President and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, there are legal updates, cleanup items, clarification, and more structure given to various governance issues. A full overview of the Bylaw revisions can be found on NACE’s website and was also emailed to all members. It’s refreshing to see how an organization like NACE can evolve - ensuring excellence in governance and fiduciary responsibilities while achieving our mission. And this is all possible due to the foresight, responsiveness, and leadership of our past and current Board of Directors. #nonprofitleadership #WeAreNACE
