MAYBANK STUDENT AMBASSADOR 2024 —• Social Media Challenge #6 Today I want to share my thoughts on sustainability and its relevance in today's world. To me, sustainability is all about finding a balance. Making sure we meet our present needs and safeguarding the well-being of our environment and communities for future generations. As someone passionate about sustainability, I've noticed that not enough people know regarding critical issues like climate change and the reasons behind the increasing occurrence of natural disasters. It's clear that we need to educate people more about this. That's why I believe programs like the Maybank Maybank Student Ambassador offer a valuable platform to integrate sustainability into our activities and drive positive change. As a prospective ambassador, I'm eager to advocate for the inclusion of sustainability-related topics in our events and collaborate with local organizations to promote eco-friendly initiatives within our communities. I understand that sustainability may come with extra costs, but I firmly believe that we can start practicing it now. It's an investment in our future, and the benefits we will get from it are worth the little sacrifices now. Even though im not an ambassador yet, I'm committed to embracing the values of sustainability and responsible leadership as I embark on this journey. Let's all work together for a brighter, greener future for generations to come! #sustainability #Mbassador2024 #roaringcareers

During the #EnergyTransition conference in Kuala Lumpur on August 28-29 organized by #TNB, I participated in a Dialogue on The Price of Going Green which was moderated by #AllisonKennedy Senior MD, Strategy, Consulting and Sustainability Lead at #Accenture SEA. The other speakers were #KenKoyama Chief Economist and Senior MD, #InstituteofEnergyEconomics, Japan, #ShahrilAzuarJimin Chief Sustainability Officer, #Maybank and #ZarihiHashim Chief New Energy Officer, #TenagaNasionalBerhad. I called upon everyone to consider the price of “not” going green instead of the price of going green. The concern with the price of going green stems from our obsession with computing the cost of going green and our inability to fully comprehend the value of the benefits of going green. What the world needs today is not avaricious but patient capital, the will of governments backed by sensible policy interventions and the capacity of experts to conceive impactful projects. Above all, what will drive the process is technological breakthroughs, private sector entrepreneurship, innovative financing mechanisms and concerted action.

🌱 Let's Talk About Sustainability 🌍 In terms of general meaning, sustainability is encompasses practices and principles aimed at meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet our own needs. It involves balancing economic, social, and environmental factors to promote long-term well-being for both people and the planet. Therefore, sustainability isn't just a goal but also a mindset, a commitment, and a responsibility that we all share with our planet and future generations. But what exactly does sustainability mean to me? For me, sustainability is a journey, but not a destination. It is about finding balance which is about recognizing the interconnections between environmental health, social equity, and economic prosperity because it requires collective action, collaboration, and innovation across all sectors of society. To be honest, sustainability holds significant meaning for me, especially after I joined the AIESEC organization. Throughout my AIESEC journey engaging in sustainability-related projects such as joining as a Local Volunteer (oMYV), Member experiences, and Management Team experiences have allowed me to develop my personally and professionally well. From here, I learn about complex global issues, develop empathy and problem-solving skills, and gain valuable experience in project management and leadership. Together, we can create a world where people and the planet flourish in harmony, now and for generations to come. 🌿💚 Maybank #Mbassador2024 #RoaringCareers
