Over the years, many people have asked me how to get a job at UNICEF. While I could provide many tips on how to draft and present a good resume or strategies to best showcase skills in an interview, I see more and more that what matters the most is this: if you think you're qualified, you identify with our Core Values, and are passionate about our mission for children, just apply. Apply to different jobs, in different locations (if you can), at different times. Too many brilliant candidates shy away from applying, or think that because they didn't get a job at the first attempt, or second, or third, it will never happen. We do hire and promote many internal candidates, for very good reasons, but don't be discouraged. It happened to me, and to countless colleagues I know.
