After 7 months of conflict in Sudan, thousands have been killed and over 6 million people are displaced, including 3 million children, which makes it the largest child displacement crisis in the world. Millions don’t have food, water, shelter and other essential items to survive. Increased humanitarian access and further funding is urgently needed to reach desperate people. The war in Sudan has reached more than 330 days, and in that time, Sudanese children have endured not just the violence itself, but the hardships of displacement. According to UNICEF, an estimated 3.5 million children are projected to suffer from acute malnutrition this year, including over 700,000 who are expected to require specialized, life-saving treatment. Sudan faces big challenges. Since the conflict started in April last year, over 13,000 lives have been lost. With 10.7 million people forced to leave their homes to escape the violence, it’s now the world’s biggest displacement crisis.     But we’re there to help. Read this troubling UN post and consider this: Where are the angry hordes in the streets, the millions of hateful social media posts, the offended pundits, the concerned artists, the engaged politicians? And all the other sanctimonious hypocrites? Where are the UN condemnations and resolutions? Where is Gutierrez? “Some 629,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) are sheltering in 150 UNRWA installations across the Gaza Strip. The average number per shelter has almost reached THREE TIMES their intended capacity.” -UNWRA “People are being forced to consume water from unsafe sources. Dehydration and waterborne diseases are becoming increasingly likely, and medicine is in short supply. There are already reports of cases of chicken pox, scabies and diarrhoea due to poor sanitation conditions and the consumption of unsafe water.” -NRC This is one of UNWRA shelters, so you can imagine how poor are their life conditions. This shelter like many other contains thousands of refugees, which exceeds the shelter’s capacity. Is it not enough that these people lost their homes as a result of the ongoing bombardment of the criminal occupation, and now they are facing a very critical health crisis due to the thousands crowded in the shelters? #ceasefirenow #savegaza #endtheoccupation #freepalestine

Another harrowing night has passed, leaving us to wonder if the situation can get any worse. Retaliatory attacks on Gaza persist, with a toll of 𝟳𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, including 𝟭𝟱% 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻. Even ambulances 🚑 have been targeted while performing their life-saving missions, and humanitarian workers injured during their missions. Multiple public and university buildings have been reduced to rubble, and journalists 📰 have also become targets. Residential and commercial towers 🏢 in densely populated areas have not been spared either. A staggering 𝟭𝟯𝟳,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 in Gaza have been displaced, seeking refuge in UNRWA urgent shelters 🏫, including UNRWA schools 📚, which are supposed to be protected by international law but have also been targeted. 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗲 🚧 has been imposed, affecting access to vital resources like water 💧, food 🍞, fuel ⛽, and power 🔌, worsening the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region. There seems to be no safe haven. So, how can we help? The escalating violence in Sudan has made the country home to the world’s largest displacement crisis — 10.7 million people are currently displaced within and outside of Sudan. To help those fleeing conflict, Chad has kept its borders open and welcomed refugees — they've received more displaced people than any of Sudan's neighbors. Resilience amidst chaos: 100 days of UNRWA's health response to the humanitarian crisis in the #Gaza strip Special #report 2024-JAN-24 On 7 October 2023, war erupted in the Gaza Strip. During the first 100 days, #OCHA reported 24,100 fatalities1, 70 per cent of them women and children. As of 14 January, 151 UNRWA employees had been killed. Since 7 October, about 1.9 million out of Gaza’s 2.2 million people have been internally displaced. The number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) seeking shelter in UNRWA facilities has risen exponentially.
