Excited about this milestone in Verst Carbon’s journey. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our dMRV platform for electric cooking. Transitioning to clean cooking and more specifically electric cooking carries with it significant economic, health, and environmental benefits. While the barrier to entry remains relatively high on account of cooking technology costs, carbon markets provide a pathway towards achieving significant cost reduction. Inspired by Gold Standard’s methdology for Metered and Measured Energy Cooking Devices, the Verst Carbon dMRV platform enables you to capture energy consumption data, location data, time data, and most importantly helps you in calculating GHG emission reductions based on baselines provided. Indeed International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has been doing this in a lot of its investments in more than 80 countries. I’m impressed by the @United Nations System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation, which aims to transform how we approach global #WSSH efforts and challenges. This strategy isn't just about taps and toilets—it's about a holistic, coordinated effort across all UN agencies to ensure accessible, sustainable water and sanitation for everyone, everywhere. Here are some key points: ✅ The strategy fosters collaboration between UN agencies to break down silos and address cross-sectoral water and sanitation issues. ✅ Goals include accelerating progress on national plans and priorities, internationally agreed water-related goals and targets, realization of human rights, and transformative solutions to current and future challenges. ✅ Through five strategic entry points, the SWS enhances leadership, supports countries with tailored assistance, improves policy coherence, and drives progress with accelerators like financing and innovation. Approved in early 2024, this strategy marks a significant step forward in UN efforts to provide strategic, effective support to national governments and aims to be a guiding force for other international organizations seeking to increase access to #WaterForAll. 🌱 What role do national ministries like Transport and Public Works play to ensure the efficient movement of agricultural goods from farm to market? Without adequate transportation infrastructure, farmers may face challenges in transporting their products to markets, resulting in delays, increased costs, and potential spoilage of perishable goods. Such issues can have a detrimental impact on our food systems. Food systems are vital to our society, impacting all aspects of our lives, from the way we grow and distribute food to how it nourishes our bodies and sustains our communities. Yet, amidst the growing challenges of climate change, resource scarcity, and social inequality, it's clear that our current food systems are in need of transformation. This is where UNDP Whole-of-Government approach comes in. By engaging all sectors of government and foster collaborative efforts across ministries, we can shape policies, implement initiatives, and invest in infrastructure that supports sustainable food production, distribution, and consumption, and enhances overall efficiency in the food supply chain. In the run-up to the 2024 European Parliament elections, FEDIOL advances solutions on how to address the challenges of the sector for a sustainable transition in #oilseed processing in the medium term. Billions of people will lack access to these basic services in 2030 unless progress quadruples. Demand for "CLEAN" water is rising owing to rapid population growth, urbanization and increasing water needs from agriculture, industry, and energy sectors. The demand for "CLEAN" water has outpaced population growth, and half the world’s population is already experiencing severe water scarcity at least one month a year. Water scarcity is projected to increase with the rise of global temperatures as a result of climate change. "Best and only sustainable solution, is to make our available water fit to use" Investments in infrastructure and sanitation facilities; protection and restoration of water- related ecosystems; and hygiene education are among the steps necessary to ensure universal access to safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030, and improving water-use efficiency is one key to reducing water stress.
