Providing access to safe water is critical in Gaza. UNICEF has installed four mobile desalination plants in South #Gaza, that will provide 64,000 litres of water per day. These plants will help provide approximately 4,300 people with 15 litres of safe water every day. But much more is needed. Your support today will be doubled and will help our humanitarian response in Gaza: https://ow.ly/tcls50SIaNX

🚨 People in #Gaza are starving as the brutal war drags on. Famine is imminent in the north and there is a risk of famine across the rest of the Strip, according to TheIPCinfo's new analysis. The projected famine can be prevented or alleviated. Urgent action at scale is required to curb the rapidly escalating hunger crisis and save lives and livelihoods: ➡️ It is imperative that an immediate and lasting ceasefire be put into effect. ➡️ Humanitarian and commercial access to and across the entire Strip must be restored and significantly increased through all available crossings and entry points with no substitute to land routes. ➡️ The sustained supply of sufficient commodities and other vital necessities must reach people in need wherever they are in Gaza, ensuring the safe, consistent and equitable delivery of aid in the volume required. ➡️ All efforts must be made to protect civilians and humanitarian actors, facilitate the provision of food and medical supplies, as well as rehabilitate and provide health, nutrition, fuel, water and sanitation services. ➡️ Most of all, hostilities must come to an end. Today is #WorldHungerDay. Nobody in the year 2024 should be dying from hunger - but this is the stark reality. The latest Global Report on Food Crises showed that an estimated 282 million people faced high levels of acute food insecurity in 2023. This figure is only set to rise with the humanitarian crises unfolding and ongoing in places including Sudan, Yemen and Gaza. In #Gaza today, 1.1 million people are facing catastrophic levels of hunger amidst ongoing conflict. This means that half of the population of Gaza is facing famine. Families are being ripped apart by hunger. This World Hunger Day, we reiterate Concern's mission - to end extreme poverty whatever it takes. The hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip is rapidly deteriorating, particularly in northern Gaza, because “people have been cut off from life-saving aid, markets have collapsed, and fields have been destroyed,” stated Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC), Martin Griffiths. According to the latest findings of the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) partnership, 1.1 million people are projected to face catastrophic levels of hunger (IPC Phase 5) and be at risk of famine in Gaza, the highest number of people ever recorded in this category by the IPC system. The Famine Review Committee and UN Emergency Relief Coordinator emphasize that famine in Gaza can be averted, provided urgent measures are put in place, including the restoration of unfettered humanitarian access. We can't stand by and watch this tragedy unfold. Contact your representatives, raise awareness, and demand action to address the Gaza hunger crisis. Donate to reputable aid organizations working in Gaza to help provide life-saving food assistance. I will drop a link to UNRWA in the comments. 🙏

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen 🆘 More than 9️⃣0️⃣% of the population has been displaced so far. People are continuously forced to flee, seeking safety from the ongoing conflict. Designated safe zones in Gaza change daily, and as they continue to shrink, these areas have become extremely overcrowded. At the same time, access to people in need is increasingly hampered by bureaucratic hurdles and security requirements. As a result, fewer relief supplies than ever reached the area this July. 📦 There is currently no other region in crisis where it is more difficult to provide humanitarian aid. Despite the difficulties, we will continue to support the people in need in Gaza. 💚 Together with our European partner CESVI and the local organization Juzoor for Health and Social Development , we will assist more than 5️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ people in the most affected areas. We're providing displaced people, who often seek refuge in makeshift shelters and community centers, with what they need to survive: 🍞 vital food supplies 💊 nutritional supplements for malnourished children 🪥 hygiene products We and our partners adhere strictly to the humanitarian principles of neutrality, humanity, impartiality, and independence. #Gaza #HumanitarianAid #SurvivalAid #ZeroHunger

People in Gaza have been suffering the catastrophic effects of war for nearly 300 days, and the situation is not getting any better⚠️ Intensified Israeli attacks on 'humanitarian zones', never-ending relocation orders as well as closed and dysfunctional borders and attacks on aid agencies, continue to drastically impede the ability to deliver life-saving supplies into #Gaza. Food, water, fuel and medicines are running out. Children's time is running out. “We are doing everything we can to save children’s lives in Gaza, but our job becomes more and more challenging by the day" Save the Children's Regional Director for the Middle East, Jeremy Stoner. We need a #CeasefireNow and full humanitarian access across the Gaza Strip. Find out more in the new report on humanitarian access in Gaza➡️ https://bit.ly/3zWp6KL
