The suffering in many African countries remains a pressing issue. It appears the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) have not fully addressed their responsibilities to ensure peace and stability. The presence of armed rebels with access to weapons and supplies raises questions about their sources and the international community's role in controlling these resources. We, the people of Kakuma Refugee Camp, are particularly affected, surviving on just 5 kilograms of food per person, with no other support. We urgently call upon the UN and AU to intervene and alleviate our suffering, uphold their mandates to protect human rights, and provide the necessary aid and security to improve our living conditions. Your immediate assistance is crucial for our survival and dignity.

Well spoken! Very strong message but .... How many words we should still listen to? How many publications of speeches we should still have to read? How many videos we should still have to watch? How many commissions meet frequently to "talk" about Human Rights and Protection ... A hug part of the energy, money and time spend during conferences and meetings should be of better use if put directly into solutions to help all these people. ONG's and other Humanitarian Associations are daily on the field helping and in need of big financial support! Without even talking about the danger they face daily risking their own lifes for humanity. Human life can not be saved only by words but by true help and actions.

So, What would UNHCR like to do then? Australia-USA-UK-European Nations, in short USA-Western Alliance Nations have been well-known as the Paradises on the Earth due to the High Living & Working Conditions for All Residents including their Civilians and their Governors whereas the Rest of the World including the Asia, Africa and Middle East Nations have been well-known as the Poor & Underdeveloped Nations of the Earth. As the result, the People from the Poor & Underdeveloped Nations have been consistently migrating to the USA-Westen Nations for Millions of Purposes, Reasons and Missions. Thus, would UNHCR advise the Governors of USA-Western Alliance Nations to Share All Residents of the Asian, African & Middle East Nations so that these National Residents can have better living and working conditions, just as the same as what the Residents of USA-Western Alliance Nations can have been having? Life has been so unfair simply b/c the Governors of Asia, African & Middle East Nations have been only raking in and accumulate the Benefits for themselves, for their Family Members and their Oligarchy People only, resulting in turning their Civilians into the Hopeless Futureless Stateless Hungry Homeless Jobless Human Faced Animals?

Well spoken, most times I sat down and think if human life’s really matters ? Why on earth can whole world leaders allow such atrocities to carry on without a word from them. No one to defend the voiceless children and women being killed, all we do is talk about climate change when hazardous chemicals are being used every day against human. Whom then are we fighting the climate change for? The world failed the people of GAZA.

Nice speech, specially where he says it is already time for action. I think that UN is already late but better late than never. Also it is very hard to act when countries like Israel are not respecting the UN, any of their resolutions, any International law, no Human rights or IHL. We are getting too used to watch all these massacres and bombings and no action.

Without implying it, the UN can't be expected to mop up problems continously created by the developed nations. It is not fair. Let's get to the bottom of these conflicts, particularly the West & the US are intricately involved. These are the very nations that veto most long-term solutions. This is historic & still continues till this day. Wisdom tells us that, Africans, collectively must deal with outside influence factor, rather than dancing to their tune, NOT the UN. The UN, in my view should play a complementary role, only.

The UNSC is so waaayyy over its sell by date. #DissolveUNSCNOW. The UNGA should be governing global affairs. Maybe progress can be made where its so desperately needed.

Thank you sir for the advocacy speech. Just wondering about South Sudan which is the biggest crisis in the world at the moment. I did not hear any statement about South Sudan

Well said High Commissioner! A timely reminder to the SC to take seriously the state of the world and the situation relating to refugees. It seems the SC is dysfunctional and some Members only interested in protecting vested interest. Reform of the SC is long overdue.
