My Life story began twenty years ago this month, the time I was brought to Australia through the Refugee Resettlement Program after have been lived in refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya for more than one and half decade. As I manifest on my experience, it is my hope and confidence that it will elysian others and help acquaint dialogue on compell migration so that refugees are understand not just as victimisation, but exemplary of resilience. In the 1983 when civil war disrupted between Southern and Northern government in Sudan, which ended in 2005, killed more than three (3) million people and displaced at least proximately five (5) million. Among the displaced were over 30,000 unaccompanied children who were separated from their parents and compelled to leave their villages for the fear of being targeted and killed as part of the obliteration of the dominant paternalism societies in Southern Sudan. The survivors of this group, who walked barefoot more than a thousand miles across neighbouring countries borders, became known as the “Lost Boys.”

Quite a good read. The motivation and the drive pays off, some of the people on the job might be doing it for the financial advantage but we have individuals who have the heart for humanitarian work. I grew up knowing that this was my field, we were born two but i was raised with 16 adopted children from vulnerable family. Although we were from a disadvantaged background, my dad founded and managed the Good Samaritan school in a slum named Kiandutu-Thika. Kenya. The school admitted kids from the street and vulnerable ones that couldn't afford school fees from the slum. I grew up seeing the sacrifice and the dedication to share the little we had with these kids. After his death, all i wanted is to let his dream live.....Fast forward i joined the police after a struggle to get a humanitarian organization and here i founded the "BOOTS AND THE BRAINS INITIATIVE". The initiative was able to reach the vulnerable and needy individuals in the society in the little way i could have managed. From free mediation, counselling, conflict resolution, school visits, feeding the street families to women empowerment. My prayer is for every person to get the real human security starting with the basic needs.
You’re doing a great work.
Insightful!..it takes courage and determination and of curse resources to take the bold step ahead to achieve the desired goal .
Today, 1 in all every 247 people has been displaced by compelling The Lost Boys histrionic global media attention that generate political and public support for the peace process in Sudan and ultimately facilitated the resettlement of nearly Estimately 10,000 of them in the Diapora community Like Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and United States and many more.I was among the group that went to Melbourne, Victoria Australia, in 13 November 2003 under the care of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). Unlike the Lost Boys of Peter Pan fame, who decided to never grow up, ours is a real story of human apocalypse and resilience. Refugee resilience deserves closer attention as the number of displaced people continues to climb globally. Although the combats are different, violence in South Sudan, the world’s newest country, has returned and more than 3 million people have been displaced by the current conflict. A recent UN Refugee Agency report put the number of compelling displaced persons at 79.5 million around the world. This means 1 in all every 247 people is an internally displaced person, asylum seeker, or refugee. This is an immense apocalypse, but as one article puts it, refugees also illustrated the “
This story inspires more and more. I hope that UNHCR will help us, particularly the refugees community based organizations, to learn more about professionalism so that we can be able to work together with UNHCR in tackling refugees matters. I'm currently running a CBO, EDEN CITY in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Uganda but getting funds for implementing our projects is challenging my team until now.
I totally agree from experience that good reporting is essential to communicate and cause transformation in the lives of intervention recipients. Accurate interpretation of data goes beyond mere numbers or statistics. Proper reporting analyses and reflects the true state and experiences of target communities. Skewed or coloured analysis and reporting misrepresent realities, potentially hindering the intervention's impact and future initiatives.
Très inspirant comme expérience ce qui me donne encore plus l'envie de devenir un humanitaire engagé
