United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)’s Post

[⚠️ 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴] Sexual violence is at unprecedented levels in conflicts around the world; a horrific daily reality for many women and girls. In #Sudan, where conflict has gone on for over a year, reports have soared of appalling sexual violence, used as a weapon to terrorize communities and exert control. See how the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is responding: https://unf.pa/wbs #KeepEyesOnSudan #EndRapeInWar

  • A card with a photo of two large white, roughly circular tents standing on sandy ground beneath a blue sky. A quote in white text overlaid reads “One soldier held the gun while the other raped me, and then they took turns.” White text below reads “Nasrah (name changed for privacy and protection), 17, was raped in her home in Khartoum, Sudan before fleeing to Kassala State where she found support from UNFPA”. There is a white UNFPA logo in the bottom right corner.

This is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of conflict on women and girls. We must recognize the bravery of survivors and work tirelessly to prevent such atrocities by supporting organizations working to end sexual violence. #WomenAndGirlsDeserveBetter #EndSexualViolence

Rape whether in war or in times of peace remains inexcusable...it is abhorrent and perpetrators must be held accountable and accordingly punished !

So depressing..... politicians should just look at the common good and stop this violence. They are the ones holding the keys for peace.

Acts of gender based violence are a menace to every society. The situation is even worse when perpetrated by someone who could have been your protector.

UNFPA is absolutely the right place to have all these inhuman sexual violence deracinated from the societies.
