Democracy, sustainable peace and conflict prevention cannot be achieved if women are left behind. Women participate in democracy fully when they: ✔️Know how to read and write ✔️Have income security and decent work ✔️Have a seat at the decision-making table ✔️Don't do the vast majority of unpaid domestic and care work ✔️Have bodily autonomy and reproductive rights ✔️Don't face sexual violence To achieve democracy, we must step it up for hashtag #GenderEquality.

🚺For this Blog Post, we’re explaining why the already awful experience of being a refugee can be made even worse simply by being a woman. 📚We hope that this article will provide an insight into sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and a lack of access to sexual and reproductive health services, as experienced by displaced females. ✍️If you’d like to write for our blog, send us a DM! 🖇The link can be found below. https://lnkd.in/eKXUFKRd

True strongly endorses a YES vote for the First Nations Voice to Parliament in the upcoming referendum. This year’s Garma Festival served as a reminder of the importance of providing First Nations peoples with a platform to voice their opinions on policy and legal matters that directly affect their lives. Empowering First Nations people to participate in policy and legal decision-making is a vital step towards narrowing the gap that persists between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, particularly in areas such as sexual and reproductive health. Together, we can work towards empowering First Nations individuals, bridging inequalities, and building a better future for all Australians.
