Super excited to present Campaign by Aseel. For now the first and only country it supports is #Afghanistan.
How is this different than other crowdfunding platforms?
Campaign by Aseel is a tool you can use to fund raise from friends and family. Then, you can use your login to select specific packages with those funds, then assign to someone you know or select from the pre-selected vetted beneficiaries, once package is assigned you and your donors can all receive a ‘proof of delivery’ for every single transaction.
Why Afghanistan?
Firstly, it’s the country we’re passionate about because that’s where we started. And then important, as outlined in the video, Afghanistan’s seen war and disaster for over 40 years. It’s left behind all kinds of important causes we can focus on, scale and then expand to other countries.
Why is a people based humanitarian platform important?
For the most part humanitarian situations are outsourced to major charities or the usual large scale humanitarian actors, if governments or states are poor/weak that means even more reliance on these traditional institutions. When a part of the world is hit by a human made/natural disaster, we would think that they know what to do and take care of the disaster. That is not the case in reality. There’s a ton of literature on the lack of effectiveness in the aid sector.
What about the usual fundraising platforms?
Unfortunately, all major fundraising platforms are built on the same infrastructure (mostly fintech) that do not support underdeveloped countries which have most of the world’s emergencies right now. That means, we’re leaving the people in the most urgent need behind.
How can I join and be part of this new movement?

2) Create a small campaign that you’re 100% sure you’ll raise, maybe 200$ to start with
3) Go through the process, assign the packages and try a proof of delivery to be video, see the impact
4) Let your friends know
5) Design a bigger project, say target disabled people with income under 5$ a day or support women who used to be teachers etc
