3wAfter beef, cacao and coffe are the products with a very high carbon footprint. Cacao is a colonial product, and a non-essential good. In this context, climate justice collective action should be more about dismantling the industry and finding new and sustainable agriculture strategies. The planet cannot cope with the cacao demand worldwide. If we really want to make an impact, we must reduce its demand and dismantle the chocolate empires which have colonial roots and are at the hands of very few in the global north.
