Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD) in collaboration with UN-HABITAT Nepal, UNOPS & Cities Alliance organized a policy review workshop under the project “Cities 4 Women: Inclusive and Climate Resilience Urbanization in Nepal”, funded by European Union and USAID, on 29 July 2024 at Lalitpur. The event sought participation from different entities of MOUD (Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Department of Local Infrastructure, Town Development Fund, Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, Nepal Aawas Bikas Company); Ministry of Women, Children & Senior Citizen (MOWCSC); Ministry of Land, Cooperation and Poverty Alleviation (MOLMCPA); Academia (Department of Urban Studies, Kathmandu University (KU) & TU; Department of Urban Planning and Department of Anthropology); Federations (MUAN, NARMIN); Professional societies (RUPSON); Development partners (EU, ICIMOD, TAYAR, NDI) and experts. The sessions focused review of the key national policies from the dimensions of urban governance, inclusion and climate change and way forward for developing MOUD’s national framework for climate resilient and gender responsive urban development and step-by-step planning guideline for the local governments. #Cities4Women #C4WNepal
