We are pleased to be a guest and exhibitor at this year's Open House Germany 2024 hosted by IPG Automotive 📅on March 12 in📍Karlsruhe. We will present our latest solution for authentic steering feel in the lab and on the driving simulator. See for yourself the outstanding benefits of #MXsteerLink: 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹: Our solution provides a realistic steering experience that helps engineers develop steering systems in both SiL/MiL and HiL modes. Without a mechanical connection to the steering column, various use cases such as steering tests, tire tests and ADAS functions can be mapped. 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: It is crucial to simulate a real steering feel at an early stage of development. MXsteerLink supports engineers test models, detect errors early, and make well-founded decision. This saves time and money. 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿: Our systems are real-time independent and can connect to the user environment via plug-and-play. This means you can easily switch between the lab and the driving simulator - no more cumbersome retooling. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩-𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹: MXsteerLink supports the validation process at every stage of the V-model. Whether it is model validation, EPS applications, or steer-by-wire development, we are there for you. Visit us at the IPG Open House Germany 2024 at 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟯 to learn more about MXsteerLink. Formula One constantly pushes the boundaries of innovation. Many developments and breakthroughs that are part of our everyday lives were born in the factories of F1 giants. Take for instance, the hybrid engine. But this week, I’ve been reading a great piece in The Economist about how F1 manufacturing lines are utilising digital twins. It’s not just the drivers that need to be quick, the entire technical and engineering team back at the factory must also work at breakneck speeds to develop their cars throughout the season. Continual progression keeps their drivers in the fight for podiums and championship points. That’s why digital twins are being used throughout the F1 world. They enable teams to run in-depth simulations for new parts, processes and systems. Ultimately, the technology is unlocking previously unattainable levels of development speed and reliability as well as keeping costs manageable. Artificial intelligence has quickly become an integral part of everyday working life - even in parts of the automotive industry. For example, our Christmas cards were created with a little help from Leonardo.Ai. Besides this little gimmick, we are supporting research into AI technology with other project partners. We are also working on the future of car seats in series production. Discover what this has to do with the 3D body form seats and what else we were excited about in 2023. Welcome to the latest update from Scan Model Make! In the second episode of our seven-episode mini-series, "Grand Design Auto: Muscle Car B-Body Rebody," titled "Large Items: Scanning the Mercedes CL500 and the GTX Rear," our director, Derrick Baker, leads the team through the intricate process of scanning large automotive components. This episode is a deep dive into the critical role of precision scanning in the rebody of a classic muscle car, showcasing the challenges and triumphs of working with substantial automotive pieces. Precision Scanning with AESUB Orange Our journey begins with the challenge of scanning two monumental items: the donor Mercedes CL500 and the rear section of a Plymouth GTX. For this task, precision is paramount. Derrick turns to AESUB Orange, a scanning spray renowned for its lasting effect, ensuring every detail of these large objects is captured in the scan. The even application of the spray is crucial, setting the stage for a scanning session that meticulously captures every nuance of the vehicles. Strategic AESUBdots Placement To navigate the vastness and complexity of the Mercedes CL500 and GTX rear, Derrick employs larger AESUBdots with strategic precision. These reference markers are vital for achieving seamless scaling and orientation in the 3D scanning process, creating a roadmap of reference points that guide the digital stitching process. This meticulous approach ensures the digital twins of these iconic vehicles are as accurate as possible, providing a solid foundation for the design work ahead. The Transformation Process Transforming the extensive raw scan data into usable 3D objects is a pivotal moment in the project. Under Derrick's guidance, the team meticulously converts this data into comprehensive 3D models. This critical phase bridges the gap between physical reality and digital innovation, setting the stage for all subsequent design and modification work on the muscle car rebody project. From 3D Model to CAD Design The ultimate aim of scanning these large automotive components is their integration into the CAD design process. Converting the 3D models into surfaces that can be manipulated in CAD software requires a fusion of precision and creative problem-solving. This step is where the scanned data transforms into actionable design elements, allowing the Scan Model Make team to explore new designs, make precise modifications, and bring the vision for the muscle car rebody to fruition. Join us as we continue to explore the intersection of technology and automotive design, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the revival and reimagination of classic cars. Stay tuned for more updates from Scan Model Make as we drive forward in our quest to blend tradition with innovation in automotive design.
