🌟 The Unsung Heroes of Retail 🌟 As I sit back and reflect on my many years of working in retail, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible friendships I've made along the way. These friends have become more than just colleagues; they've become my family, my support system, and the reason why going to work every day feels like a joyous adventure. In the late-night shift windows and early-morning VM setup sessions, I found a group of special individuals who share the same passion for making our store the best it can be. Together, we form an unstoppable team, pushing through challenges and embracing every moment of camaraderie. The bond we share is truly unique. These aren't high-ranking officers or CXOs; they're everyday people who pour their hearts and souls into the smooth operation of our stores. Their dedication and hard work often go unnoticed by the outside world, but to me, they are the unsung heroes of retail. Through this Weekly series, I aim to share the happy moments and stories that have made our time together unforgettable. From the little tea breaks we cherish like sacred rituals to the naughty and hilarious escapades that keep us laughing even on the toughest days, I'll shed light on the magic that happens behind the scenes. These stories will feature the names and personalities of these incredible individuals who have touched my life in profound ways. They have taught me the value of teamwork, empathy, and the simple joys of finding fulfilment in the little things. So, watch this space as we embark on a journey through the heartwarming, humorous, and sometimes mischievous tales of our tight-knit retail family. As I recount the adventures shared with these amazing friends, I hope to not only celebrate our time together but also shine a light on the beauty of forming genuine connections with the people we work with every day. To all the unsung heroes out there who dedicate themselves to their jobs and their team, I raise my metaphorical tea cup to you. Let's make this series a tribute to the power of friendship and the unsung bonds that make life's journey so much brighter! 🍵🌟 P.S. MOHAMMAD ASAD are you ready for next week ?? 😁 😁 #UnsungHeroesOfRetail #WorkplaceFamily #RetailAdventures #FriendshipTales #RetailLife #retail #workculture

💡 🤝 Here is an #unusual #partnership.... Ulta Beauty has partnered with Mel Robbins to launch The Joy Project. This collaboration emerged from the "Joy Study," a research effort commissioned by Ulta Beauty, which investigated how 5,007 U.S. adults and teens experience joy and the obstacles they face in daily life. The study found that 73% of participants engage in negative self-talk, with 70% not recognizing it when they do, and 91% identifying negative self-talk as a major barrier to experiencing joy. Mel Robbins will conduct a series of mini courses for Ulta Beauty's 53,000 associates nationwide. These courses will equip them with strategies and practical tools to identify and disrupt their inner critic, fostering self-inspiration and inspiring others. Michelle Crossan-Matos, Ulta Beauty's CMO, expressed their commitment to using beauty's power to unleash inner potential and spread joy. As industry leaders, they feel responsible for facilitating change. Mel Robbins highlighted the significance of addressing negative self-talk as the primary impediment to joy, even when most people are unaware of its prevalence. Associates are encouraged to share these joy-enhancing practices with guests, potentially sparking a movement extending beyond Ulta Beauty stores. #positivethinking #partnership #beautyindustry #executivesearch https://lnkd.in/g-xret3Q

The Retail Chronicles: More Than Just a Job Ever wonder what it's like to work in retail? Imagine "The Office," but with price tags and pushy customers. My stint at Steinmart was a rollercoaster of experiences that shaped me in ways I never expected. 🎭 Cast of Characters: - The drama queen GM - My best friend and "coach," Keith (think Jeremy Piven, but more chill) - A crew of coworkers, each with their own quirks and charms 🌟 Star-Studded Moment: Picture this: The lead singer of The Monkees (yes, my childhood idol!) walks in needing new underwear. Guess who became his personal shopper? This guy! 🛍️ Retail 101: - Master the art of "look busy" - Engage customers like a pro - Memorize neck sizes, arm lengths, and jacket sizes (trust me, it comes in handy) Looking back, Steinmart wasn't just a job. It was a crash course in human interaction, a stage for unexpected encounters, and the backdrop for some of the most memorable moments of my young adult life. What's the most unexpected lesson you've learned from a "regular" job? Share your story below! #RetailLife #CareerLessons #UnexpectedMentors

Educator and Mentor for esthetics at Paul Mitchell | Licensed Esthetician, Business Administration | Passionate about workplace safety and safety for minorities and women
What impact do you hope to make on the industry? ✏️ To make an impact one must look within foremost. Naturally taking the initiative to connect with other beauty consultants in order to educate others and empower on a macro level to enhance team moral is how I feel I make the largest impact in beauty. I’m humbly learning from my leaders, manager, district managers and other store managers to enhance team morale at a store front and bridge the gaps between beauty consultants and their team, as well as, between the pharmacy and the store so all individuals can coexist in the most efficient ways. By maintaining an optimistic approach and actively listening to others in order to understand, I can make an impact that is silently powerful and streamline based on how others receive direction in the healthiest way.

🕰️ Throwback Thursday Reflection 📝 Many years ago, I found myself in a situation where I felt overlooked and undervalued in my role. As an assistant manager and trainer at The Body Shop Georgetown, I poured my energy into the job, even though it wasn't my dream career path. When Estée Lauder acquired the business, I expected my dedication and expertise would be recognized, and I envisioned myself stepping into the store manager role. However, reality had other plans. Despite being the most senior and knowledgeable person on the team, I was asked to train a new staff and even my new boss without any additional compensation or recognition of my efforts. It was a blow to my confidence and left me feeling devastated. But from that disappointment emerged a valuable lesson: understanding my own worth and learning to negotiate it. Reflecting on that experience, I realize now that I should have advocated for myself more strongly, demonstrating my capabilities and insisting on fair compensation. In hindsight, I would have approached the situation differently. I would have negotiated for better pay from the outset, showcasing my ability to lead the store effectively during the transition period. And if they still chose to overlook me, I would have walked away empowered and confident in my abilities to secure another managerial position elsewhere. This experience taught me the importance of knowing your strengths and values and confidently advocating for yourself in the workplace. It's a lesson that has stayed with me throughout my career journey. 💼 ✨ #ThrowbackThursday #KnowYourWorth #CareerReflections #NegotiationSkills #YoungProfessionals

In the art world, "Culture Vultures" are often those who voraciously consume the arts, seeking out the latest trends, exhibits, and performances. While their enthusiasm is commendable, it can sometimes lack depth and genuine engagement, focusing more on appearances than on true appreciation. In the realm of advertising, a similar analogy can be drawn. Just as Culture Vultures chase the latest trends, many professionals today might be tempted to chase superficial successes or fleeting trends. But somewhere along this path, people feel burnout and fall out of love. Hence, companies should strive to build a culture that goes beyond surface-level engagement. The vision should be to foster a workplace where passion and purpose intersect. A place that nurtures genuine connections, encourages creativity and celebrates the unique contributions of every individual. By creating a culture of authenticity and deep engagement, we ensure that teams don't just come to work—they thrive. They find joy in collaboration, pride in their achievements, and inspiration in the collective mission they share. After all, when people love what they do, they bring their best selves to work, creating a positive and dynamic environment that benefits us all. #BuildWithLove #BuildForBetter #BringBackTheLove #Advertising #Marketing
