Meet the N&P team! For our first “Meet the Team,” we have a man who needs no introduction! You’ve seen him frequently on our social media, from hosting spirits tastings in our cellars to being an excellent hand model...Spirits Specialist, Steven Cook. In this series, we will be asking the Nickolls & Perks team a few questions so you can get to know the people who make N&P tick. "What’s your favourite Dram?" It's always a tricky question for a booze geek. Something peated in a port cask. "What’s your favourite local restaurant?" The Old Wharf Inn. I'll be there for another top-draw Sunday roast this month. "What’s your desert island drink?" Another toughie. A bourbon, perhaps. If you find any islands with Michter's 20 Year Old on tap, let me know. "What’s your favourite Band/Artist?" I'm a big fan of shoegaze-y style stuff like Stumbleine, Tourist or M83, they're great for a road trip. "What’s something you think is totally overrated?" Nightclubs. Too loud. Give me an old-school boozer, taproom or swanky bar any day. "...and finally What’s your guilty pleasure?" Horlicks. I'm already accused of being older than my years. A hot cup of Horlicks certainly doesn't do that reputation any favours. #NickollsPerks #MeetTheTeam

🍀 Are you ready for the St. Patrick's Day Antics? With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, this Sunday 17th March, now is the perfect time for food and beverage businesses to gear up for one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year; the one day a year when everyone's a little Irish. From overly green decorations to special menus, here's 7 tips on how to make your establishment talk of the town: 1️⃣ Stock Up on 'Essentials': Ensure you have enough inventory, especially Irish staples like beer (think Guinness 🍺), whiskey, and ingredients for traditional Irish dishes. Remember, it's better to have more than not enough! 2️⃣ Special Menu for the Day: Design a themed menu featuring Irish classics such as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, and soda bread. You could even consider offering green-themed or Irish-inspired cocktails and mocktails. 3️⃣ Staff Readiness: Make sure your team is ready for the rush. You might wish to consider extra staff or extended hours, and brief everyone on the day’s special promotions. 4️⃣ Decorate in Green: Transform your space with green, white, and orange decorations. Flags, shamrocks, and even themed table settings can create an inviting atmosphere for your customers. 5️⃣ Promotional Activities: Use social media to advertise your specials, events, or any entertainment you’re offering. Consider early bird specials or discounts for those wearing green to drive early traffic. 6️⃣ Entertainment and Activities: Live music, Irish dance performances, or trivia contests can make your venue stand out of the crowd. If space allows, set up areas for games like ring toss or a photo booth with props. 7️⃣ Safety Plan: Expect larger crowds and plan accordingly. Ensure that all safety protocols are in place, from crowd control measures to responsible serving practices for alcohol. So, are we ready for a cracker? #stpatricksday #foodsafety #hospitalityindustry #tipsandtricks #beprepared

Good things are happening every day. Take a look around: special moments, celebrations, milestones, new skills learned, services provided to the community, a smile shared and just simple kindness. From a communications perspective, embracing those moments and sharing the impact is a large part of elevating your brand’s/organization’s, group’s/etc story. The little things matter in the big picture. You can’t expect everyone to see it that way… Another 🔑: Having colleagues who are willing to identify the moments. This is so important. Social media isn’t “their thing,” but you can’t be everywhere. Those conversations to share the goal and have support in a team effort - Lisa is wonderful at doing so. While working in public safety, it was often the photos sent by Captains of station training on a random afternoon that truly gave a behind-the-scenes look. In news, sometimes the moments turned into lead stories. A small moment is much more.
Happily Ever After starts at IHOP! 💕 After exchanging vows on Friday morning, Carl and Trudie Yassell visited IHOP in Pompano Beach to celebrate with loved ones. As fate would have it on this special day, South Florida Regional Director Lisa Méndez was at the restaurant for a meeting at the same time. Throughout Sunshine Restaurant Partners, Lisa is known for her “Meals on Me” tradition, as she will often cover the check for lucky guests dining with us while she is out visiting the 50 locations she oversees. On Friday morning, the newlyweds and their group heard, “Meals on Me!” We are honored to share the special moments with guests, from major milestones to new memories with family and friends. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness and short stacks, Mr. & Mrs. Yassell!

Meet Tyler Young, a finalist in last year’s Masters of the Craft competition, who works as a bartender at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Tyler's interest in mixology began when he started serving drinks at private parties and saw how much pleasure it brought to his customers. According to Tyler, "The moment I saw the smile on someone's face after serving them their first cocktail, I was hooked." Since then, he has worked in both front and back-of-house positions to perfect his skills and explore new and unique flavors. Tyler's regional award-winning recipe, the "Tokyo Sour," is a delightful blend of plum whiskey, egg whites, lemon juice, simple syrup, yuzu, and ginger liqueurs. Remember to save the date for the semi-finals happening on August 23rd! http://marr.in/6040P5Qso #beginbelongbecome #beyou #mastersofthecraft #MOTC2023
