CONFERENCE SPEAKER DISCLOSURE ALERT !!
The CBTC WORLD SUMMIT is the most comprehensive global CBTC conference of the year and runs on 20-21 September. This post series tells you a bit more about the outstanding panel of presenters, one by one as they all deserve your undivided attention.
Every single presentation is "XL-sized", meaning full 45-minute keynotes, not those time-pressured 20-minute slots which are sadly so typical for most other conferences. And while the presentations go live in the time zone of the respective session, you can watch all of them as replays on demand, any time you like, from the comfort of your own home, office or even deckchair. 🏖
The North/South America session would not be true to its name without at least one presenter from South America. And what a presentation this will be! @christian talks about CBTC in Sao Paulo, and as you can guess from the presentation title, a lot of VERY special things happen down there. You will find out for yourself that the steroids reference is highly justified. By the way, that was my choice of title, no Christian’s, in his defense. 😉
The CBTC World Summit is not just a series of project updates with stock-standard CBTC applications. I personally handpicked the topics and speakers that can talk about something special, out of the ordinary. In this case, the service frequencies they achieve with CBTC will just blow your mind. And regarding the number of CBTC suppliers active there, Sao Paulo is the biggest “hodgepodge” outside China. But it works, and boy how it works!
This is only one of 18 world-class presentations from all around the world, and at a cost of less than $17 per presentation, without any additional travel expenses needed, there is no better value for money in any other CBTC conference.

1moRegarding the incident last night with the injured player in the Scotland Hungary match , I hope their will be an internal investigation as to why it took so long for medics to reach the player who obviously required immediate medical attention so much so the other players were visibly distressed and upset along with many viewers . Whilst I appreciate accidents happen my concern here was the slow reaction of the medical staff and although this may be the stadium’s responsibility I feel UEFA must set out conditions that the hosting stadium must comply with . The blasé attitude of the medics on their approach to the player was not acceptable and I hope that this will be addressed with seriously. It was very disappointing and distressing to see .
