ln this post we unravel the key principles and success factors of the OfR programme to support its implementation, such as: ✅ Reliability education: OfR aims to link machine operation and reliability. It explains why operators are well placed to improve equipment reliability. It also promotes the philosophy that equipment reliability is everyone’s responsibility. ✅ Data-driven: opportunities for OfR are identified using #DefectElimination data analysis processes such as #RCA and real-time monitoring, etc. These processes select equipment which have been identified from failures primarily caused by operator behaviour. ✅ Measures and feedback: it requires establishment of appropriate measures and operator feedback mechanisms, to ensure improved behaviour, are critical elements of the OfR programme. Typically, this involves implementing a multi-level reporting process from site level to individual operator self-management reports. ✅ Respect for the operator: OfR states that 'people will do the right thing if they understand what to do and why it is important'. It holds that people will respond positively to timely feedback. ✅ Relationships dependent: it needs an open working relationship between technical services, mine planning, production, and maintenance is important in an OfR programme – with a joint /shared focus on #ValueCreation. ✅ Requires Executive Sponsorship: support and sponsorship from Senior Production Management is critical for success. This includes strong frontline leadership capable of managing feedback to operators. Have you implemented an OfR programme in your operations? Which additional principles not covered here did you embrace and utilise to ensure a successful programme? Let us know in the comments section. Are you in need of assistance to develop and implement an OfR programme for your facility? We are well positioned to collaborate with you to tailor a programme that's aligned with your unique environment and needs. Have you submitted an extension of time (EOT) request which was rejected by the other party? The approval process for time extension requests can be lengthy and complex. Owners may resist time extension requests, either because they are concerned about the impact on the project timeline and budget, or because they believe that the contractor is responsible for the delay. Parties often spend significant time blaming each other for delays and writing letters establishing their position instead of managing the project for success. Time extension requests can sometimes lead to disputes and even litigation, particularly if the request is denied or the parties disagree on the causes and extent of the delay. However, if you know how to prepare time extension requests, provide necessary documentation and evidence to support your request, and know available techniques to delay analysis, you can successfully navigate the delay claims to the finish line. Interested in learning how? Join this free masterclass, where you’ll get first hand insights from one of the leading developer of recommended practices and guidelines in forensic delay analysis, Mark C. Sanders, P.E. In this masterclass, you’ll: 🔥 Learn why contractual processes for settling time extensions often don't work. 🔥 Gain a better understanding of how you can improve the process for resolving time extensions, even after the contract is signed. 🔥 Learn how to collaborate with counterparties to determine responsibility for delays in a manner that focuses on the best possible outcome for the project. 🔥 Gain insights on proactively analyzing delays contemporaneously while there's still time to do something about them. 🔥 Discover how you can break the cycle of submittal and rejection of time extension requests and create a process that benefits the project as a whole 🔥 Get equipped with strategies to prepare, analyze, and negotiate time extensions 🔥 Explore how you can successfully steer change orders, claims, and forensic analysis in your projects It’s a session packed with practical insights and strategies. Technical Leader at Alstom | System Integration | Interface Management | Engineering | Operation Control Systems | Communication Systems | EPC Contracts
Very good summary. Unfortunately Systems Integration aspects are usually underestimated. This is applicable not to railway only but for other industries as well. When this happens in the large-scale projects, it leads to many complexities at the late delivery stages and even failures in fulfilling some requirements. Sustainable delivery of big projects can be done only with a presence of Systems Integration professionals in the team from the first day.
Railway integration isn't just about technical delivery. There are four areas we need to focus on: technical, people, program, and process integration. Senior Project Director, Simon D'Cruz, sheds light on this approach, and how prioritizing these key components can preempt last-minute malfunctions and ensure seamless railway operations. In the complex landscape of modern construction, the roles and responsibilities of project stakeholders are pivotal in determining the success of a building or facility. Among these roles, the commissioning agent stands out as a key player in ensuring that all systems and components function correctly and efficiently from the outset. However, the decision to hire a commissioning agent can differ significantly depending on whether it is made by the project owner or the contractor. Each perspective brings unique benefits and challenges to the commissioning process. This discussion delves into the critical importance of hiring a commissioning agent, contrasting the viewpoints and impacts for project owners versus contractors, and highlighting how this decision can influence the overall quality, efficiency, and success of a construction project. #cxa #leed #feed #opr #bod #client #contractor #commissioning #commisssioningagent CAINV5 Data Centre & Mission CriticalSygna.Sudlows ConsultingLotusWorksHDRASHRAEGreen Business Certification Inc.
