"Cargo volumes at the Port of New York and New Jersey witnessed an 11% year-over-year decline, totaling 644,439 TEUs.
Additionally, the total TEUs saw a 13% decrease from October 2023, which had been the seaport's busiest month of the year due to retailers gearing up for the holiday shopping season, as stated in a port press release.
Year over year, both loaded imports and empties experienced a 7% and 21% decrease, respectively. However, loaded exports at the port increased by approximately 2%. Despite the lower year-over-year volumes, the volumes processed at this East Coast port were 7% higher compared to November 2019." ThinkFreight
