Ubiquity joined “The Big Climb” fundraiser to fight cancer on Saturday at New York’s Citi Field. The nationwide event conducted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supports blood cancer research. This research has led to therapies for patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers, and the therapies are now in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate. https://lnkd.in/ebjaQQP

Blood cancer fact #2. Blood cancer is broken out into 3 primary types including, Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma. Myelodysplastic Syndromes is a rare, lesser known form of blood cancer. It is often unrecognized and underdiagnosed. Each type of blood cancer affects the production and function of blood cells. We stand with all those impacted by blood cancer and aim to help move research forward. Share this post to help us raise awareness and support those impacted by blood cancer. #BloodCancer #BloodCancerAwareness #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth

September 15 is World Lymphoma Awareness Day. #Lymphoma is a type of #bloodcancer that affects the lymphatic system, which includes the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow, beginning with the white blood cells known as lymphocytes. There are over 70 types of this #cancer. There is a pressing need to help people combat the disease and all of its subtypes. At Stanford University, there are technologies available for #licensing that can help in the fight against lymphoma. Check out the collection on our #TechFinder website and let's see if we can make a difference together! It’s #WorldLymphomaAwarenessDay, a day to stand together in solidarity with those affected by lymphoma and an opportunity to raise awareness about this disease. Did you know lymphoma is a type of cancer that derives from cells of the lymphatic system? There are different types of lymphoma, including non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma and Hodgkin's lymphoma. At #MSD, our dedication to combating #cancer is unwavering. Through our #research and development efforts, we have cultivated an extensive research program, with over 2,000 clinical studies. We are proud to be part of this program with currently 33 #clinicaltrials across various cancer types in #Switzerland. Let's fight cancer together and pave the way for better treatments, improved outcomes, and a brighter future for all those affected.

Leukemia, lymphoma, gynecological, ovarian, and prostate cancer all share September as their awareness month. Despite impacting thousands of people every year, several of these cancers are not included in guideline recommended screenings. Join us in raising awareness about how adding multi-cancer early detection to recommended cancer screenings may be able to help you get ahead of cancer when it may be more treatable.¹ #MultiCancerEarlyDetection #CancerScreening #BloodCancer #GynecologicalCancer #OvarianCancer #ProstateCancer References 1.Klein EA, et al. Blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, affect more than 1.5 million people in the U.S. These cancers: 🩸Account for around 10% of new cancer diagnoses 🩸Cause around 57,000 deaths in the U.S. each year 🩸Represent 28% of all childhood cancers Wistar scientists identified genetic alterations linked to the development of blood cancer, leading to the development of new molecular therapies. It’s one example of how the early-stage discovery research done at Wistar paves the way for medical breakthroughs, giving patients new treatment options, and ultimately saving lives. Sunday, September 24th is #WorldCancerResearchDay. 🔬 Nearly every breakthrough in blood cancer therapy has been made possible thanks to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the last 70 years, LLS has funded research in Academia through its Research Grant Programs and TAP, recognizing that groundbreaking research will one day lead to a world without blood cancers. Affimed is proud that we were the first European partner of the LLS. This decade long partnership has led to several different clinical trials in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma (PTCL) with our Innate Cell Engager (ICE®) AFM13. From the start, the team at LLS TAP understood the scientific rationale behind our innate immunity approach and saw the potential for patients with high unmet need. The trials supported by LLS TAP helped to validate and gain support of or Innate Immunity approach which is an integral part of what we do at Affimed.
