In children under 15, leukemia makes up 28% of all childhood cancers diagnosed. The next most common type of childhood cancer is brain cancer (26%), followed by lymphoma (12%). It is often unrecognized and underdiagnosed. Each type of blood cancer affects the production and function of blood cells. September 15 is World Lymphoma Awareness Day. #Lymphoma is a type of #bloodcancer that affects the lymphatic system, which includes the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow, beginning with the white blood cells known as lymphocytes. There are over 70 types of this #cancer. There is a pressing need to help people combat the disease and all of its subtypes. It’s #WorldLymphomaAwarenessDay, a day to stand together in solidarity with those affected by lymphoma and an opportunity to raise awareness about this disease.   Did you know lymphoma is a type of cancer that derives from cells of the lymphatic system? There are different types of lymphoma, including non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma and Hodgkin's lymphoma.   At #MSD, our dedication to combating #cancer is unwavering. Sunday, September 24th is #WorldCancerResearchDay. 🔬 Nearly every breakthrough in blood cancer therapy has been made possible thanks to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the last 70 years, LLS has funded research in Academia through its Research Grant Programs and TAP, recognizing that groundbreaking research will one day lead to a world without blood cancers.   Affimed is proud that we were the first European partner of the LLS. This decade long partnership has led to several different clinical trials in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma (PTCL) with our Innate Cell Engager (ICE®) AFM13.
