What is it going to take to fulfill our vision of making the University of Houston a top 50 university? In our relentless pursuit of excellence, we've witnessed the unwavering spirit of our students, faculty, staff and alumni. Against the backdrop of unprecedented challenges, we chose the path less trodden, and together, we've climbed higher than many expected. We've marked our spot at #70 among all public universities in the United States — a 21 spot jump in just one year that has had many do a double-take. But we're not stopping there. The top 50 awaits, and with it, the potential recognition from the esteemed Association of American Universities (AAU). So, how do we get there? 1. Increase graduation rates 2. Increase federal research expenditures 3. Tell our story 4. Secure increased funding Your belief, commitment and support have been the wind beneath our wings. Let's seize this moment and shape the future of higher education, one Cougar success story at a time!

Well deserved. People should read your new book, ‘Government Can Deliver’. You share advice with personal vignettes to emphasize your insights. A well organized how to deliver better government services book. This should be recommended reading for anyone working for or with the US Federal government.

We need your help! This year, the University of Pittsburgh will use the annual K. Leroy Irvis celebration on Feb. 26 to honor six individuals who have made contributions to the Pittsburgh artistic community and who have demonstrated their commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion across the Pittsburgh region. To nominate someone, visit https://lnkd.in/ecExYNY8. The deadline is Feb. 5. Nominations are being accepted from the public in six categories: Inspiring Leader – A graduate student at the forefront of advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion for the University community. Exemplifies strong leadership skills. Aspiring Ally – An individual who is supporting inclusionary efforts in the community or at the University. Creative Changemaker — An individual who is changing the culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the community or at the University. Has shown the ability to shift the narrative around DEIA efforts. Social Justice Advocate – An individual who is focused on advancing social justice efforts for the community or at the University. Unsung Hero — An individual who tends to work in the background, encouraging others to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. A person who historically may not have gotten the credit for the work they do to advance DEI efforts. Campus Leadership — An undergraduate student who develops synergy and collaboration in the University community. Must have leadership experience on campus.

This is an interesting speech about people who should have evolved and know better but they did not. Some key points: - kindness and empathy are not weakness; - cruelty shows a lack of evolution from our primary animal instinct; - some of these people who consider themselves so smart even became presidents.
