Job opportunities are growing across sectors in tier 2 and 3 cities, and professionals are eager to join, recruiters and firms said. I saw this article today, entitled “Job market 'incredibly tight' despite rise in unemployment. Australia's headline unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.8 per cent in March, after employment fell by 7,000 people and unemployment rose by 21,000 people. This is in interesting, as what I am seeing in the IT contractor space right now, is a very candidate heavy market, with not enough opportunity. As we head towards the end of the financial year, there has certainly been an increase in federal government IT contract roles. Do we think this will continue into the second half of the year? #recruitment #fedgov #ITcontarctors #labourhire

The June jobs report was released late last week with a net gain of 206,000 jobs. The chart below shows the breakdown. While Government jobs made up a third of the gains, Social Assistance and Healthcare / Hospitals also had significant gains. The one thing that gets buried in these releases are the revised number from the previous months. The June report showed the following revisions: The April jobs report was revised down from 165,000 to 108,000 ⬇ 35% The May jobs report was revised down from 272,000 to 218,000 ⬇ 20% What will the actual June number be when we get the August jobs report? 🤷♂️ https://lnkd.in/eGTtzZzh
