A great book that uncovers today's need to work in global health development while keeping in mind those hidden concepts that affect such development. The book presents concepts that are of great value to adopting an inclusive mindset especially when looking for partnerships and new ventures to impact the health of populations in need. Power is a big concept that requires conceptualizing those aspects that deeply hinder development, but yet remain unfolded. Power requires determined change which must not succumb to the needs of those in position to control or manipulate population needs just because they own the bread and butter. An infinite mindset when collaborating is needed for bringing about powerful global health development, but with caution and great awareness. Thanks for making this an open source book #globalhealthdevelopment

In Politico today: RARE DISEASES ERNS, WHAT THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY’RE GOOD FOR: European Reference Networks (ERNs) are a much-ballyhooed example of successful EU health policy. But what exactly do they do? Thankfully, they’ve published a very readable guide to walk you through it. Memory lane: The intro is from none other than the director general of SANTE herself, Sandra Gallina. The health chief puts it clearly. The networks were first set up in 2017 and connect doctors, researchers, and patient organizations to share knowledge about rare and complex diseases. Better together: “No country alone has the knowledge and capacity to treat all rare and complex conditions. Thanks to the ERNs, patients across the EU have access to the best expertise available.” Coming up: At the moment, there are 24 ERNs. They’re being backed by €77 million of new grants from the EU4Health program. Another €15 million is earmarked to integrate the ERNs into national health systems. And at the end of this year, there will be an evaluation weighing up the past six years’ of the ERNs’ functioning.
