OUR GOALS ⇢ Mondays are the best days for #goalsetting & for reminding yourselves & others of your current goals. To reduce inefficiencies around use of paper-based forms, and to help meet increased demand and rising waiting lists within their services, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London have been using online forms to digitise their pathways. The trust found that digitising questionnaires, such as Patient Recorded Outcome Measures (PROMS) and Quality of Life (QoL) questionnaires helped improve patient completion rates whilst using online forms to support waiting list management efforts supported a reduction in long-waiting patients and smoothing demand across their sites. I know ... I missed it by a day, but here is my contribution to the discussion on Patient Safety Day: Eliminate hospital visiting hours. Why? Because it is antithetical to providing patient centered care. Surprising no one, Don Berwick says it better than I do, though I do want to extend it to (almost) all hospital units, not just critical care.
