Hospitals are reinstating mask mandates as COVID hospitalizations and JN.1 variant spread increases. This is a reminder that hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings are where sick people go. Even before COVID, people got sick in healthcare settings. We should make masking the norm in healthcare settings permanently. However, healthcare settings aren't the only risky places. Anywhere people gather in large numbers, such as airports and crowded theaters, there is risk. Masking is prudent for everyone, almost everywhere. We could reduce the incidence of many respiratory illnesses if we made masking normal behavior. #maskmandate #healthcare #COVID19
